Settled on the delightful civil parish of Canvey Island, just off the coast of Essex, is this remarkable detached house, Maisonwyck. Set over three floors and sleeping up to fourteen guests, Maisonwyck is an exquisite retreat for any group looking to explore Canvey Island and its surrounding area, with the large town of Basildon and the resort of Southend-on-Sea easily accessible. The house is located only one hour from London. But trust me, here,–you’ll feel a million miles from Monday.

Basildon 8 miles, Southend-on-Sea 10 miles, Grays 17 miles Just off the coast of Essex, nestled in the Thames Estuary is the low-lying island of Canvey Island, home to the beautiful Thorney Bay Beach which provides impressive views across to the Kent coast, the Canvey Island Heritage Centre and Museum and a fantastic selection of shops, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes. Transport enthusiasts can pay a visit to the Canvey Island Transport Museum which looks back at vehicles from times gone by and has its very own functioning model railway layout. Kids and big kids can enjoy a water-filled day at Stay and Splash at the Paddocks Community Centre, with its lido, climbing frame and on-site restaurant.
