Our beautiful cosy, family and dog friendly cottage is located in the historic Millgate area of town Our pretty Grade 2 Listed cottage has been lovingly renovated to create a wonderful holiday home. Perfectly located for city, coast and country walks, being just 20 mins drive from the stunning north Norfolk coast and 30 minutes from Norwich. All our guests receive linens, bath towels, hand towels, tea towels, tea, coffee, milk, rice, pasta and a surprise or two on arrival. Families We have a travel cot, highchair, baby bath, changing mat, baby cutlery, crockery, lots of toys, books and baby gates for the top and bottom of stairs if needed. Dogs We are super dog friendly with a large secure garden, and, we don't charge any extra for two medium sized dogs to stay! Our dog Ralph is a big part of our family and we want guests of the four legged kind to feel right at home. There's plenty of dog treats and spare leads and bowls too. The space 28 Millgate has a brand new, fully equipped kitchen with electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There’s a dining table that seats four and everything you’ll need for your self catering stay. There are 3 bedrooms, two doubles and a single which is perfect for little ones. Both double rooms have hanging space and drawers, hairdryers and heat mats, and there’s and iron and small board. The single room has hanging space and a trunk. The spacious bathroom has a traditional free-standing corner shower bath and luxury toiletries are supplied. As with all old cottages, it has its quirks, but we’ve embraced them to make a cosy and comfortable home. It is a hands off check in process, and despite what the listing says, you don't need to tell us what time you'll be arriving! Check in is 4pm, check out is 10am.

28 Millgate is our home from home, a place we feel totally at peace. Norfolk holds a very special place in our hearts, and we're excited to share it with our guests. In December 2017, Lee and I ran away to North Norfolk. In the summer of that year after 4 years of infertility and gruelling IVF, we lost our much longed for twin girls Lily May and Ava. Both born sleeping too early at just 18 weeks. We couldn’t face another family Christmas. We needed to go where no one knew us, where we could walk, talk and try to make sense of the life we were living. Norfolk saved us that year. The beaches and countryside helped us heal, we went back again the next year, and the next. We always hoped one day we’d have the opportunity to spend more time there, and finally 6 years later we’ve bought our perfect holiday home. Our beautiful two year old rainbow daughter will get to experience life near the coast, and we hope many other families will be able to enjoy it too. Our cottage is super dog friendly with a large secure garden, and, we don't charge any extra for dogs to stay! It's a struggle for many families including ours, to find affordable holiday homes, so we do not put our day rates up during the school holidays.

Beautiful Blickling Estate National Trust is on the cottage doorstep, perfect for long dog walks. The Black Boys Great gastro pub with the portion sizes from heaven. I’m not kidding, the quality of food and value for money here is superb. M’s of Aylsham Cocktails and bottomless brunch your thing? M’s chic cocktail bar serves up all the delights and offers a mighty fine fish deli too. The Blind Pig delivers a mean Sunday lunch all from its beautiful, cosy bistro and wine bar setting on Red Lion Street. You want pizza? Well you are spoiled for choice here my friends.The Proper Pizza Co is takeaway pizza at its finest. Fresh ingredients + wood fired oven = perfection in a pizza. Keep your eyes peeled for the Norfolk Sausage special and that Hell Fire devil! Stamp Located in the beautiful old Post Office building overlooking the market square, this is a place to dine in and devour the stunning food and atmosphere. With cocktails downstairs in the bar too you can make a night of it. Coffee? You need Bread Source in your life. The prettiest artisan bakery, their flat whites fuelled the cottage renovation. You’d be a crazy fool to pass up on one of their Hazelnut brownies. The best bit? All a 5 minute stroll from 28 Millgate.
