The property is by the river (as the name suggests!) and it was very pleasant to sit outside when we arrived in the late afternoon and enjoy the view. Geraldine was very helpful in terms of arrival, and she also gave us a simple but tasty breakfast.

Glasbury village is only a few minutes drive south from Hay on Wye in beautiful countryside an right by the river. The Harp Inn is a great place to stay, it's a pub full of character and you get a very warm welcome from the owners. The facilities and food are brilliant and excellent value for money. We will certainly make a return visit next time we are in the area.

The only food available on a Sunday night in March was at the Harp Inn/Pub where it was Pizza night. No other choice! My stay was in Glasbury which is handy for visiting the Brecons but I can't think why anyone would actually want to go there.

I like the fact that you can return to your room when you like during the day without feeling that you are intruding or should be out all day. So that enabled us to have some down time reading in the beautiful restful rooms with equally beautiful views and to top it off - take a yomp around the garden to get some fresh air. We had a lovely meal at Foyle's local restaurant, then a pub in Hay the following evening. We were told about The Harp pub for next time.

The Glasbury community welcomes visitors. If you enjoy outdoor activities in a stunning location, then you won’t be disappointed. However if you rely on public transport, this may create some issues in your travel arrangements.

    I love walking, hiking, scrambling.

I love walking, hiking, scrambling. Mountains are not for me yet(with health problems),but walking, visiting castles, town, bookshops, art galleries, crystalshops, independent coffee, vinyl shops are just for us. We also make trip to Black Mountains area and I saw wild horses first time in my life! Made me happy and smiling. Glasbury have amazing -clean and cosy B&B -The Haro Inn-with local owners, home food, and divine puddings! Great walks along River Wye -you can walk to Hay on Wye and far far if you want . In warmer season kayaking and canoeing.

The room (Otter) and en suite were spotless, comfortable, and ideal for my two night stay. The balcony view onto the river was a nice bonus (photo). I thought the fresh milk in the mini fridge was a lovely touch. Geraldine dropped by a couple of times and was delightful. There is a lovely little circular walk by the river on the other side of the bridge. From there, you can see the light blue property (photo). Add another 200 yards, and you can find yourself in the bar at Foyles of Glasbury!

Booked this hotel as a base for exploring the bookshops in Hay-on-Wye. It was just a five minute drive, so great location. Beautiful views from the pub and garden. We had an evening meal, which was very tasty and reasonably priced. Lush breakfast in the morning. Really friendly and helpful staff. The price we paid for two of us, in a twin room, with breakfast and location, was brilliant. Will defo be back if we venture this way again. Thanks guys. 😁
