The Godwin’s is in a time of transition, so, unfortunately the kitchen wasn’t open. But the room was wonderful, the building was a stunning period building packed with beautiful period features that have been wonderfully preserved or restored. Barrington is a delight.

Wonderful city , full of history and character.

Wonderful city , full of history and character. Much more like a large market town , with many interesting and unique shops , not like most cities. Also just minutes away from the country side . The Court Yard theatre is a definite must , great food to the in-house restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff and the show was very good value for money .

Although Hereford is a city, it has the feel of a large market town. The railway station is convenient and a short walk from the centre, with taxis available if you prefer. The cathedral is wonderful and there is also a theatre and museum. Driving in Hereford can be tricky, especially at peak times, and you need to keep an eye on the different lanes at the main roundabout. The shops are good and there are eating places for all palates.

A bit biased as I have holidayed there since the age of 4.

A bit biased as I have holidayed there since the age of 4. A great base for a lot of Herefordshire, including the City itself. The Cathedral and it's surrounding area is lovely, the town centre has plenty of eateries, a cinema, the usual shops together with some exhibition type places like the Cider Museum. Further afield, the Black and White trail, Hay on Wye, Ross on Wye, Monmouthshire is just across the southern border. The purpose of my visits, as well as family, is to do Family History research and Hereford has a excellent Archive facility with very helpful staff. Also many many old small village churches to visit providing you are ok with Herefordshire lanes! My one comment to anyone visiting outside the city is that there is a reasonable local bus service BUT to be completely free you would need your own transport.

The highlight was the cathedral, which is lovely, with a small but picturesque garden, and the Mappa Mundi; it is worth listening to the talk on that as it explains much that is not obvious about it. The city is rather run down, with many empty shops (like many other places) but is easy to walk around and adequately catered for with supermarkets for everyday necessities. Driving there is easy most of the day and it is no problem to het out to some wonderful countryside.

Beautiful villages and farms with lors of castles and such.

Beautiful villages and farms with lors of castles and such. The roads to acces these places consist of narrow roads and blind laneways were only one car can pass at a time. The locals don't bother to slow down or make any effort to allow you to pass. They drive as if they are on a motor way.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the woman who owns the b&b, who was friendly and informative. The room was very cosy and comfortable, with a nice sized bathroom. In the morning we had a lovely full English breakfast cooked for us, although there were lots of other alternatives if you preferred to have something else. Our favourite thing about the b&b was the location which was perfect - only a 5/10 minute walk into the town centre! We'd happily stay here again when visiting Hereford in future.

Everything! Accommodation clean with everything we needed. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant and they had a good variety of drinks. Friendly staff and everywhere was clean. A great hotel all round. This hotel caters for weddings and conventions and is the only hotel of its kind in Hereford. They will also accommodate for dogs and have plenty of outside space. The decor inside is beautiful so would be heartbreaking to see it all demolished just to make way for yet another supermarket!

Stayed Saturday 4th June The staff are really friendly, good welcome to hotel. We had a large room overlooking the front with two windows which was a nice outlook. Went to dinner at bunch of carrots which was good. Kim dealt with a problem with the alarms very well on her own she was very professional and also made tea for all the people affected and couldn't apologize enough. The staff need to be supported by investment it is an old building and could be really nice.

Friendly proprietors. Very clean room and very comfortable bed. Shower and toilet clean and adequate. Handwash provided (but no shower gel). Microwave, refrigerator and kettle provided and adequate tea, coffee, etc. The guest house is within very easy walking distance (via an underpass), from the town centre, shops, cafes, restaurants, cathedral, etc. It's about a 20-minute walk from/to the train station and less to the bus stations.

Hosts are very friendly, my hotel on arrival at 8pm was closed, the hosts of Lyde cross took my booking at 8.30pm and made the property ready at very short notice. Completely rescued me from a rough night in the car!!! Apart from this the property is in a beautiful location, 5minute drive from Hereford station. Quiet and very well appointed was a lovely surprise and a great place to unwind and relax.

Decent but no frills double room, clean, comfy bed, felt safe (key pad on front door to come and go), private off road parking. Close enough to Hereford town centre to walk. Note there's no breakfast options at the moment. We ate dinner at The Burger Shop, it was the best burger I have had in a long time. Access to the garden at the back.

Honestly one of the best hotels to stay in. Travel alone for work and feel safe, get a great nights sleep and a warm welcome. Breakfast is fantastic. Love the little touches such as a teapot in the room. Cannot fault this place and will always stay here if I'm in Hereford. Really is homely and comfortable.

The room was large, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and very filling. We were able to walk to Hereford City centre both days - it took just over 30 minutes each way. If we had stayed longer, we would have caught a bus to Ross on Wye or Monmouth as they go past the hotel every hour.
