Rowan Retreat is set in the beautiful grounds of Blencowe Hall, in a secluded spot on the banks of the River Petteril. This little hut is the perfect place for those looking for a luxurious break and a digital detox in a WiFi free space.

Neighborhood info

The Blencowe Estate Clay pigeon shooting is available. Brown trout fishing on the River Petterill. Pony trekking, sailboat hire and cycle tours can be arranged. We have a swimming option available by prior arrangement at nearby Greystoke village Pool, a great heated outdoor community facility. When staying in the hut, you are spoilt for choice with things to do within the grounds of the estate. There are a number of activities which can be organised for your stay from sailboat hire, brown trout fishing and pony trekking to a cycle tour along the beautiful C2C cycle route. For those who love walking and exploring, head out to the Lake District which is just over 3 miles away for a walker’s paradise. There are a number of wonderful houses and gardens to visit nearby if you like stepping back in history! Appleby Castle, Dalemain House and Gardens and Acorn Bank Garden and Watermill are just a few, and if you are interested in trains the Settle Carlisle Railway is a must – you can even hop on a steam train for a quick trip.
