Downpatrick is awash with ancient history.our local museum which is just a stonethrow away from St Patrick's Cottages can explain all our local history in great detail. We are surrounding by professional golf courses indeed two international link courses not to mention our very famous horse racing track which has meetings all year round. Great shopping in our local town for mum and family to put an hour or two in. All the popular shopping stores and names are there. We have our very own steam track that boasts our steam trains which is in regular use to bring you back to a bygone era. Plenty to do for the kids as well.Funky Monkeys inside safe play area for all the young children from ages 1 to 8 and Delamont country park for young children and older children 4 miles from St Patrick's Cottages. Why not try pony tracking not far from St Patrick's Cottages in Castlewellan. How's about cycling on our safe country roads for all the family. We have one of the best kept beaches in Europe Tyrella beach unspoilt sand dunes and nearly 2 miles of a pure golden sand beach for all the family Rossglass private beach is just a half a mile from Tyrell and then st. John's point lighthouse. There are far too much to mention in this beautiful area surrounding St Patrick's Cottages. You just have to come and stay to experience it. An experience that you will treasure for a lifetime.
