The cottage was very cute and not far from the town. Being on the canal was nice for walks. The owners were easy to communicate with.

The cottage is comfortable but cozy. It had a lot of charm and located near a pier/lock that was lovely to visit. It had all the amenities needed to be comfortable.

Built in 1920, Seacot is a comfortable, traditional cottage on the High Street in the former fishing village of Clachnaharry by the Caledonian Canal in Inverness. Our holiday home has been tastefully modernised whilst retaining many of the period features. There is a period Iron column radiator in the dining room to keep warm and an electric fireplace in the TV room. There are 3 other original fireplaces throughout the cottage. Although these are not active, they add to the character of the house. Inverness city is known as the ’Gateway to the Highlands and Islands’, and you can enjoy its wealth of historic and cultural attractions using Seacot Cottage as your base. As the capital of the Highlands, Inverness is able to boast of a wide variety of shops, riverside restaurants, pubs, live music venues, festivals, cinemas and theatre. The Clachnaharry Inn, a traditional real ale pub, is just 2 doors down from Seacot and is an extremely welcoming place to go to experience great food, drink and company! The canal is just a few minutes walk away for sunset strolls. A bus stop for public transport just along the road and a shop and petrol station just 600 yards away.
My partner and I live in Inverness with our 3 young children. We believe that you have access to the best of both worlds for a city holiday and a countryside exploration holiday in Inverness. The city gives you access to pubs, clubs, restaurants, theatre, cinema and other city attractions, while the countryside is never more than a 5 minute drive away. Inverness is the gate-way to the highlands and our cottage is the perfect base for exploring. We are readily available should you need us. We live in Inverness and will be just a phone call, text or email away.
The canal and bird sanctuary are just a few minutes walk through the village or along the High Street. Loch Ness, Eilean Donan and Urquhart Castle, Culloden battlefield, The Cairngorm National Park, The Isle of Skye, Fort George and Cawdor and Brodie Castles are all within easy reach and make excellent day trips. An absolute must for book worms is Leakey’s, a beautiful second-hand book shop housed in a refurbished church. Whisky lovers can enjoy one of the many distilleries on the famous Strathspey Whisky Trail, sampling some of the finest whiskies in Scotland. Inverness makes for a great golfing holiday: there are three courses in the city itself and numerous others clubs, such as Fortrose & Rosemarkie, Castle Stuart and Strathpeffer Spa, just a short drive away. The highlands has an abundance of wildlife and rugged mountain scenery, sea trips, fishing, golf, mountain biking, a variety of watersports, walking and climbing. The North Coast 500 is a circular route which is ever growing in popularity. We are perfectly located for a start and finish of this stunning coast drive which brilliantly shows of the glory of the Scottish coastline.
