Property info

You couldn’t get closer to the sea in Fife without actually being in it! Sporting an outside terrace right on the sea wall and the living room offering unobstructed views through a wall of glass, Sharps Close 2 is one the most prized properties on the Cellardyke shoreline. With the master bedroom behind a pair of double doors, if he/she so wishes, the guest is able to lie in bed and take in the floor-to-ceiling view right across the Forth to East Lothian. Sharps Close takes its name from the small alleyway that leads down to the cottage, which used to house workers for the nearby Sharp and Murray oilskin works. The owners have renovated this 19th century cottage to an extremely high standard. Entrance from the close leads into a hallway and on to an open-plan modern kitchen/diner, with all amenities, including TV, smart speakers etc.. As the owner fancies himself as a bit-of-a-chef, the kitchen is laid out for those who enjoy cooking but is equally suited for munching on a takeaway or rustling up a quick bite. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with two windows to the close and a family bathroom, with shower over. A recent extension now houses a further twin bedroom on this floor, accessed through an archway from the kitchen. There is also a utility room in this area. A modern oak staircase leads to a large bright sitting-room with beautiful unobstructed views to the Forth Estuary and North Sea, including the Isle of May and Bass Rock. Recent works have removed the complete gable-end and replaced it with a wall of glass, extending the sitting-room further out towards the sea, thus creating an additional seating area to take in the view. The window opens to a fabulously private terraced area surrounded by a glass balustrade, where you can sit and enjoy the views onto the beach. With the waves crashing to the beach just a few feet below, this is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the view of seals, seabirds (including numerous curlew) and occasional do
