All around are stunning walks starting from your doorstep with well signposted footpaths and bridleways to explore, stunning coastline which make for a perfect walking/cycling/riding holiday. The historical St Catherine's Lighthouse is one of the oldest lighthouse locations in Great Britain, although no longer open to the public, it is still amazing to see and located a short 10 minute stroll away. A walk down "dock lane", an old smugglers path next to the Buddle Inn car park, will take you down to Castle Haven, where you will be able to get a freshly brewed coffee and then head down to Watershoot Bay, just along from St Catherine's Lighthouse. (Please be aware that the walk down is an uneven pathway and the beach is rocky & sandy at low tide) Any keen cyclists can hire bikes from Wight Cycle Hire, where they will bring the bikes to you and you will be able to cycle the many coastal paths the island has to offer.
