The apartment is fabulous the bed is unbelievably comfortable the view are amazing the apartment is that good for the money I am leaving a review before we have left honestly the couple who own it are amazing couldn't fault them one bit they even got my girlfriend a present for her birthday even though it was short notice will definitely be coming back you have a back terrace it's like a sun trap makes you feel like you are in a different country THiS IS THE PLACE TO BOOK IF YOU WANT SEA VEIW AND PURE BLISS AMAZING 😍 100/10 sublime

    The town is a bit run down but is up and coming.

    The town is a bit run down but is up and coming. The beach is lovely and there is a good promenade too. Spanish City is a great asset with cafes and restaurants. Park View is a wonderful independent shopping street. There are a range of restaurants to choose from. The Metro and bus connect the resorts of Cullercoats, Whitley Bay and Tynemouth. Tynemouth is more upmarket. All have great beaches and cafes.Newcastle is about 25 minutes away on the Metro.

    We really liked the area. It was clean and looked cared for.

    We really liked the area. It was clean and looked cared for. I also felt safe and comfortable taking early morning walks. Most people were polite and friendly. Good places for us to eat were La Casetta and Trenchers. It was a great area to explore the North East.

    Beautiful Whitley bay and along the Coast is just Stunning Scenery ! It's well Worth a visit to explore the Coast line . Vera County! Tynemouth Cullercoats Blyth too all And small villages in the middle it never Disappoints xx Best Fish and Chips in the North East . ! And the People are the Most welcoming it's Truly Heaven .

    Clean,friendly and plenty to do for everyone.there are plenty of Restaurants and takeaways to choose from also shops with everything you need or if you prefer a more peaceful day you can relax by the beach.

    Such a pretty seaside town.

    Such a pretty seaside town. Great amenities - restaurants, takeaways, shops, parking, amusements, free toilets. Beautiful beach - long and sandy, rock pools, clean beach and water. A visit to St. Mary's island is highly recommended to see the seals and climb the lighthouse (it is tidal so check the times).

    From The Royal Hotel on the promenade, there is an unspoilt...

    From The Royal Hotel on the promenade, there is an unspoilt picturesque coastline to historical Tynemouth with ancient monastery, old shipping port, and walk beyond. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the vicinity of the town. On the other side of The Royal Hotel, there is a walk along the promenade to St Mary's Lighthouse. Please check times if/when it is open.

    Great location, close to sea front and 5 mins from the metro station. The metro takes you across Tyne and Wear and into Newcastle. I know the area and it is quite run down but some new properties being built and the area being revamped etc so don’t let the first impressions of the street put you off. Stayed in Room 1. Basic kitchen equipment, microwave and kettle. Local coffee was a really nice touch. Easy to check in with codes which are emailed. Fast responses to messaging in app.

    Paul was the excellent host that all visitors to the Metropolitan Guest House Whitley Bay will doubtless experience and enjoy. Breakfast: My wife and I enjoyed a lovely breakfast, a good choice of cereal, fruit juice, Tea or coffee, Toast and marmalade. Different selections of Hot breakfasts to choose from. Service was excellent, couldn't have given given better. Room: All rooms were kept spotlessly clean, the bedroom and breakfast room. The hygene was second to none.

    Michael was a wonderful host very friendly and welcoming. The room was perfect with a very comfy bed and pillows. As a tall guy I was more than happy to see that the shower was the perfect height for me. The room also had a microwave and sink plus crockery etc a very useful addition. The breakfast was amazing with options galore if desired. The hotel is a short walk away from everything Whitley Bay has to offer. I will be returning to the hotel next time I am in the area.
