The Old Estate Yard is a dog friendly self contained link detached annexe, situated in the centre of the lovely small village of Dumbleton. This is a spacious property on the ground floor. You enter the property through the good sized and very well equipped kitchen/diner which has a double oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, undercounter fridge with icebox and a large fridge behind the double doors on the other side of the kitchen. There is also a kettle, toaster and smoothie maker. A clothes airer, iron and ironing board are also provided. A small supply of Earl Grey and English Breakfast tea bags, coffee bags and instant coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits will await your arrival. Salt, pepper and good quality oil are provided. Sometimes guests leave cupboard items that you are welcome to use. A small number of dishwasher and laundry tabs are also provided, please bring more if you are staying more than a few days. We provide all cleaning products and equipment should it be needed during your stay. Across the inner hall is the very large lounge with bi-fold doors which open out on to the screened off decked area and shared back garden (rarely used by the hosts). The lounge has a fabulous wood burning stove for cosy nights in, two 3 seater sofas, two armchairs, coffee table, 55 inch smart tv with Netflix, and a sideboard and blanket box with plenty of games, lego, and a small variety of books. A small supply of logs is provided. The ground floor has a beautiful shower room, fully tiled in marble, with high quality sanitary ware and walk in shower. Upstairs, there is a double bedroom with two built in wardrobes with shelves and hanging space, dressing table and bedside tables, plus a rocking chair. The twin bedroom also has a built in wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a bedside table. There is a 3rd single bed under one of the twin beds which would be best put up in the double room or on the landing to accommodate a 5th person.
Lorraine and Graham (the hosts) are available to help during your stay, knock on the door if we are in or phone/text if we are out. We have a very friendly labrador dog who will be keen to make your acquaintance.
Dumbleton is a small village set on the edge of the Cotswolds in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A beautifully situated Cricket Club is just up the lane with parkland and fields on either side. The Clubhouse bar is open most evenings and weekends in the cricket season. The property is ideal for walkers and dog owners and is on the route of The Winchcombe Way with Broadway and The Cotswold Way nearby. It is also ideally situated for visiting the North Cotswolds, Stratford and Cheltenham. The local village club is open every evening from 7pm and has a bar, full size snooker table, pool table, darts board and skittles alley. The village also has a beautiful church which is worth a visit. The village is close to the following villages and towns: - Broadway, Stanton & Winchcombe (10 minute drive). - Chipping Campden, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh, Bourton on the Water, The Slaughters, and Cheltenham (20-30 minutes) Private parking on the shared drive in front of the property is available for a maximum of 2 cars, however on-road parking is also available free on charge. A car is essential as there are no daily bus services to/from the village. There are no street lights in the village so a torch is essential if walking out at night.
