The location and home was fantastic, especially for us as we had to work whilst staying at the Quay Pottery. There was fast wifi, the river view was lovely, and everything was incredibly clean when we checked in. We ate at the pub next door and the food was delicious, and very convenient to get home from.

Property info

As featured on BBC Escape to the Country, The Quay Pottery is freshly renovated and set in a prime South facing position on the River Medway, close to the village of Aylesford. The terrace and full-width upstairs balcony overlook the river and the beautiful surroundings, which includes Aylesford’s famous medieval bridge. The property has been completed to a high standard throughout, combined with this unique setting, it provides the perfect riverside getaway.

Neighborhood info

Aylesford is a historic village at the foot of the North Downs. It has a fine selection of period buildings clustered around the charming high street, church and river. The bridge was an important crossing point and there is a c13th Carmelite priory on the edge of the village. Adding to the history, there are plenty of castles to explore in the immediate area too, with Leeds and Allington around 10 minutes drive. Good shops, pubs and restaurants and a railway station within walking distance. The Hengist is at the bottom of the road – a super restaurant! Nearby Maidstone is Kents County Town and has a full range of shops and amenities. You are just 20mins from Ebsfleet International station with a direct line London St Pancras in just 20mins and further connections to Paris and Brussels. You are also within short reach of the M20 and M2 motorways, providing easy and fast links all over the county and beyond!
