Had breakfast in the Old Bell - it was really superb! Loved the quirky decoration and interesting pictures in our `suite'. So comfortable and well equipped as well. A really enjoyable stay in spite of having to go to a family funeral. Hope to come again for happier reasons.

Property info

This double fronted period cottage dates from the mid 19th Century, lies just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of historic Malmesbury. It has recently been redecorated in the owner’s signature whimsical style with plush fabrics and furnishings. The front door leads into a spacious flagged hall, on the right is the sitting room with a Victorian range fireplace. At the rear is a large dining/family room, which has a fireplace fitted with a gas log burner, plus windows and double doors into the courtyard garden. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms – the master has an en suite shower room The third bedroom is a comfortable single. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath. The dog-friendly cottage is near many National Trust and English Heritage sites and makes an excellent base from which to explore the Wiltshire and The Cotswolds. Malmesbury lies close to the border of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, 14 miles south of Cirencester and 10 miles north of Chippenham, with Swindon 16 miles to the east and Bath 24 miles to the west.
