"The Hotel is located directly on the beach and it is why we chose it. This place will not disappoint. The rooms are as well prepared as possible. Pure silence, super clean, modern, and the balcony view was perfect. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. From the time we walked in I felt like I was at my home away from home. Marica and Datcha were always available to help with anything we requested. The staff seriously brought the stay to the next level. Shopping near by. I must say I have not experienced this kind of hospitality for a long time.

The main coast road between Split and Dubrovnik (route 8)...
The main coast road between Split and Dubrovnik (route 8) runs through Podstrana so it can be quite busy at times. However there are some really nice places to eat such as Hotel Eden and restaurant Arkada, both of which are mid-price range (but expensive if you have wine), but worth a visit at least once. Less expensive local eateries are about, but we were only there for 3 nights and made the most of it. There are several supermarkets along the main road for groceries etc. Most of the "beach" area appears to be pebbly/rocky, although we did not explore very far from our hotel. There is a main bus route through Podstrana which links it with Split centre.
Due to personal circumstances we did not venture very far so are unable to rate other possible attractions in the town.

I was staying just 2 nights so mainly relaxing. LOcation is good for exploring surroundings. I was hoping to go horse-riding on the mountains, but time was too short. Enough to see for a coulpe of days and beaches are good. Prices near the big hotel are more than in elsewhere in Croatia, but there's choice.

Quite far out from Split, expensive restaurants and expensive for sun beds/umbrellas at the beach, €40 Be careful of scam taxi drivers, we used Uber, it was average €15/€20 into and out of Split, we picked a taxi up on the street and he charged us €42.50 one way.

I can only guess that it was the time of year but there were very few restaurants or bars open.
The ride to the centre of Split is about 20 minutes in a taxi - we did attempt to walk on day but certainly for the first 3 to 4 km, there was no footpath.
Apart from some beaches, we found little of interest in Podstrana

love podstrana if u want a calm vacation. its the best beach in split area if u want something where it is not over crowded. would stay here again. tried more beached closer to split and i will never go back there. smells like urin, and is very dirty so would for sure stay in podstrana.
Beautiful apartments. Very spacious and comfortable with air conditioning. Beach very close by and a wide range of restaurants and cafes. The host, Lada, was unbelievable with us and very friendly. We were a group of 10 boys who had come from hideout festival for a couple days extra in Split, and it was perfect for us. The bus goes from Podstrana every half an hour and the last bus is at 12am back. If you miss the bus you can also get an Uber or taxi for 200 kuna which is perfect between 4 people!
Great hotel in Podstrana. Rooms are spacious and super clean with a balcony. The pool area is lovely. Water is clean. Plenty of sunbeds and free coffee. Location is good, approx. 20min by bus from Split and 100m from the beach and a few restaurants. The owner, Sanja, is very helpful and answered any questions we had. We were able to get late check-out since it was still out of season.
Loved our stay and would gladly come back again!
Roomy apartment located just a 3-minute walk
down to the shore of the Adriatic Sea, with good swimming and sunbathing there and a lovely (crowded) beach just south of there in front of Le Meridian hotel resort. Kitchen was modestly equipped for cooking meals. We appreciated the big bed and great wifi. We enjoyed hanging out on the patio. The owner was very nice and a responsive communicator. The cost for 3 days was very reasonable.
Location was perfect right on the beach, next to the supermarket and bus stop. Just 25 mins to split every half an hour.
Room was high standard, great bathroom, fridge and little balcony. Cleaned every day which was a treat.
Hotel manager was so kind and helpful always looking to make my stay better.
Beach is lovely for swimming, SUP, jet ski, massage and boat trips to islands.
The stay was great. The rooms were neat and the location was excellent. I liked staying away from split and Podstrana was not crowded at all. The beach next to the stay was great and I spent most of my time there. The A.C. was not bad, it was hard to find the right temperature for me (but that is subjective). Great places to eat close by (for e.g. Bili Pivac)
Martina and her family provided us with the perfect accommodations. Located beachfront with beautiful clear blue green water. Breakfast was delicious, especially the little apricot croissants. Perfect location close to Split and Omis. Martina booked us an amazing boat trip to Hvar and the Blue Caves and other islands. We can’t to return!
Small hotel with friendly staff, only 10 kms from Split city centre. Free parking just outside the hotel. We had a nice large room with see views. Quiet and relaxing at the hotel. Great quality breakfast and dining possibilities at the hotel. Beach, bars, restaurants and more in short walking distance from the hotel.
Luxurious appartments in Podstrana, a quiet little town close to Split (20 min drive). The host Ivaca is very friendly and helpful, as well as the rest of the staff. The appartments have a really nice pool with sun-beds and clean towels every morning. Would recommend staying here when you visit (the area of) Split.
It was on the beach and very relaxing. The staff went out of the way to make things perfect for you. Breakfast had all the perfect items with fresh eggs made anyway you wanted. Bus stop out front to go into Split, traffic was a bit of a nightmare, just planned accordingly. I would stay here again.
Comfortable spacy apartment with all necessary facilities, friendly hoster. Supermarket is close to apartments, beach in 20 minutes of walk. Parking place is in tree shadow. Overall good place for travelling in Croatia and we had a great time with family. We had a great time with family.
It was nice to have direct access to the beach (which was small, but never crowded), and the pool was also nice.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant was also very good.
The staff were all very nice and helpful. It felt a bit like staying at a family-run guest house, rather than at a hotel.
We had the best time at Villa Lavanda
Host went out of his way to ensure we had enjoyable holiday.
Villa was well equipped with beautiful views and handy access to supermarket, restaurants and the beach.
We’d definitely recommend it for anyone heading to Croatia!
The hotel was lovely, beds were comfy, good pressured showers. Hotel was quiet however we did stay at the very end of the season. Short bus ride into split centre was cheap and easy to get from outside the hotel and lovely hot dog bar just around the beach.
We stayed for a week in the Residence hotel. The location is amazing, rooms are clean and well equipped. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
If we ever come to Croatia again, we will definitely stay in the Residence.
Very nice view to the sea and beach area with new and well equipped hotel rooms and very nice and friendly staff which makes things much more pleasant, great for holiday :)
