FAQs about hotels in Dublin

Great History, Greenery and Pubs

Dublin is home to more than a quarter of the entire Republic of Ireland’s population and was originally founded as a Viking settlement. A lot has changed from those Viking days, and Dublin is now famous for its literary history and the most green-spaces of any other European capital, making Dublin a real Irish gem.

Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College holds the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. The Ha’penny Bridge is the city’s most photographed landmark and the statue of Molly Malone celebrates the heroine of Dublin’s unofficial anthem.

Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.

Being one of the most youthful European cities, Dublin has a vibrant nightlife scene with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

The Dublin Airport is the gateway to your Irish holiday, so whether you’re looking for a stylish hotel, a self-catering apartment or a trendy hostel, Booking.com has a perfect deal for your Dublin trip.

Dublin is a vibrant city with great food, but alcohol is quite expensive. The public transport and shared bikes are easy to use, and cycling around the city is very comfortable. There are plenty of things to do, from enjoying comedy clubs to visiting interesting museums. I highly recommend the guided tour of Dublin Castle. For a nice day trip, take the DART train to Howth to enjoy the coast, delicious seafood, and beautiful beaches.

I was utterly shocked at the amount of drug users on the streets. I went there over 10 years ago and didn´t see one. The streets are filthy now and a ruined city. What a shame. Sadly I will never return. Terrible place.

I found it very difficult to get round - the buses are a mystery as is the tram system and I never di managed to find a Dart station - I need a stick to walk and it is not a city for people like me. Although using the hop on hop off bus is a help getting around but it takes for bloody ever as you wait for the next one to come along. There really is a lack of on street seating and cafes seem few and far between so it is back to Pret yet again nice though it is. The pub meals do vary - they seem suspiciously hot as if they had been heated up violently in a microwave sometimes but the drinks always good and the service admirable

Pros: One of the liveliest places I've ever visited in my life. I walked everywhere and didn't use public transportation, but it seems easy to get around. The live music scene is incredible. Cons: Tourist traps charging exorbitant prices for stuff I can get cheaper at home.

Hotel itself is immaculate for a city centre hotel. Staff were lovely and very helpful. After discussion with a member of staff about the ridiculous parking charges (which I was unaware of as booked through Booking.com it stated there was parking but didn't mention charges), this fee was waived which was much appreciated. Room spacious and comfortable. I'm from Dublin and was visiting family so was very impressed with the standard of this hotel.

Cosy and spacious room. The beds were really comfortable and the ensuite bathroom was big and well equipped. Lovely staff and delcicious breakfast, you have to pay extra, but it's worth it. The place is between a walking distance from Dublin's city centre but if you don want to walk, you have a bus stop a few metres away from the hotel. Located in a peaceful neigbourhood away from the city centre's fuss. Perfect for a quiet sleep.

Attentive staff, comfortable and spacious room, location convenient for events at AVIVA Stadium and also Dublin city centre. The hotel catered well to the event we attended with a late bar, late light bites food service, themed DJ playing that specific artists music to serve returning concert goers after getting back from the Stadium late at night. Really impressed, such a good vibe.

Clean modern comfortable hotel, quite corporate focused as opposed to family orientated. We stayed here before going to the Aviva for an Ireland match and found it a convenient location 15 min walk from stadium and about the same to the city Centre. The Luas is close by on Mayor Street which is also a bonus. Good breakfast, with plenty variety, staff helpful and friendly.
