It is a very nice little city with lots of restaurants and bars for any kind of public. The sea has a wonderful colour, it is super clean (at least while we were there) and behind the lighthouse there is a super beach with rocks, it looks simply GREAT.
I love little Otranto, definitly worth a visit!

We enjoyed walking around the town and beach area.
We enjoyed walking around the town and beach area. We travelled to the Bauxite Lake which was nearby and hiked around it and then down to the ocean. A highlight was going south and swimming in the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. We hired a boat for the two of us for 3 hours for 60 Euros. It was absolutly amazing and the grotto's were beautiful. The water color was just amazing! A highlight of our trip to southern Italy.

It is a really attractive town, with pretty streets, a castle and a lovely old cathedral. The cathedral has some spectacular Byzantine floor mosaics. In grim contrast, the Martyrs Chapel contains the bones of 800 Christians massacred by the Turks in 1480. We spent an enjoyable couple of hours exploring and ended up for a good mojito and beer on the front.

Very interesting old town, beautiful castle and churches, etc.
The old part of town is full of charm and pleasant to strall around. Eating on the sea front, watching the boats come and go, real relaxing holiday.
The surroundings also offer possibilities to visit impressive caves and the famous cava de bauxite.
I don't think I could've asked for a better stay. the location was excellent for this hotel. It was close to the centre of Otranto and the beach but away from the crowds. The service from the staff was excellent could not be faulted for anything. They were extremely accommodating and arranged car rentals for me as well when needed. The adjoining restaurant was also very accommodating of my dietary restrictions and took special care of that as well. the restaurant provided with amazing food for a very reasonable price too!
Our stay in this property was definitely the best stay of our journey through Puglia. Especially the warmth of Lorena and Francesco, the hosts, have made us feeling super well. From serving a welcome drink and recommending the best beaches, the daily smalltalk was great. We decided to have dinner in the property every evening - Lorenas Apulien cooking skills were super and opulent.
We didn’t have a car through our journey, that’s why we had to rent bikes for the stay - no public traffic in the surrounding.
The location is perfect for people who look for a quiet place near the beach, away from the hustle and bustle. It is only a 3-4 minutes walk to the beautiful beach and a 10-minute drive to Otranto. The room was spacious and nice, perfectly clean. The breakfast is clearly better than the Italian average in similar hotels, products were of a very good quality. The pool was clean and nice, staff very friendly. Dinner was good, but not extraordinary. Great restaurants within 5-10 minutes drive from the hotel.
Serene country property within 10 minutes of Otranto and dozens of beaches. The home is the actual lovingly cared for and decorated home or the owner. It’s massive and well appointed with an amazing deck view.
The host was amazing. She treated us like old friends and was available for any needs.
The pool was a life saver during a heat wave.
Everything was perfect. We stayed during a long trip across multiple countries and 10 different stays. This was by far the best.
Nice well kept little hotel very conveniently located right at the beach front and with very short walking distance to the old town. Nice, comfortable, clean and well kept rooms. Friendly and polite staff. Excellent breakfast where you needed to select from a card, the best was some very good homemade croissants probably the best I ever had in any hotel, it was like from a good bakery, the cakes was good too and coffee tasted like from your typical Italian coffee shop.
So Happy I found La Zudrea B&B. It is a hidden gem tucked in a quiet neighborhood just outside of Otranto. Salvatore makes one of THE BEST cappuccinos in Puglia!! Breakfast is served on the front lawn overlooking their family olive grove. Rooms- nice size, simple decor and clean.
Salvatore is full of helpful information about the area, restaurants and parking tips for your day trips.
Very friendly staff
Great locations amongst the olive groves but still close to Otranto and beaches
Charging for our plugin vehicle, which is rare in Italy
Great pool area for when kids were tired of the beach
We stayed in the suite, which was almost like it's own little house with a private pool and garden. Very private and very practical with kids.
Will happily stay here again.
Stunning property in an excellent location. Lucia and Vincenzo were incredible hosts. Great communication both before and during our stay. More of a boutique hotel than a simple b&b. Exceptional food!
Location feels tucked away in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle, but it is only 5 minutes walk to central Ontranto.
Highly recommend.
Everything was superb, the room was a suite! With balcony and view across the bay, beautiful. Staff were so helpful and organised transport for us to Gallipoli as transport system is somewhat unreliable in the srea of Otranto. The breakfast was on the roof terrace with a wonderful selection. We couldnt recommend this Hotel highly enough. 5 stars.
Tiny BnB/hotel, with parking on the street and easy walking distance to the historic area. Federico and his family were great hosts and extremely friendly. And they serve an enormous breakfast. Highly recommend if you are looking for a very clean budget place walking distance to everything.
Loved everything about this hotel. Beautifully decorated with excellent facilities, it is located close to the historical centre. Staff were friendly & helpful. Our room was large, modern & comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best & the breakfast room has an amazing ceiling.
The greatest hosts of all time. The way they took care of and welcomed their guests was reason enough for us to see this was the best accommodation we had stayed at during our 2 week trip. Excellent location as well, and very clean facilities. Thank you !!!!
Gorgeous peaceful location, delicious dinner in the restaurant (yes please lobster linguine), lovely friendly and helpful staff, great pool, comfortable and clean room, easy to get a taxi into Otranto when we didn't want to drive.
This is the best place we’ve staying in three weeks traveling Puglia. It is exceptionally charming and the host was friendly and happy. the breakfast was excellent. I would go out of my way to stay here again.
Beautiful historical building with an amazing terrace overlooking the sea and port. Excellent restoration and use of an ancient 14thC Otranto palazzo! One of the better Puglian breakfasts on offer….
This is the place to stay if you want peace and quiet. Clean room, friendly host, he got us fresh local fruit each day. 15 min walk to the old town and 3 min walk to the best beach in Otranto.
