The room was spacious. The food was quite delicious. The most impressive was the staff’s service. My friend forgot her backpack on the train and (speaking very little Japanese) we asked the staff for assistance. They were extremely helpful.
Yamanakaonsen Ohanami Kyubei is offering accommodations in Kaga. Conveniently located in the Yamanaka Onsen district, this ryokan provides a hot spring bath. Yamashiro Onsen is 3.1 mi from the ryokan....

We loved the simple luxury of Ohanami Kyubei — our room was elegant and comfortable and we enjoyed sleeping on the futons and sitting out on the balcony. We also appreciated the multiple onsen options, especially the private outdoor baths with views of the gorge and of the sky. All of the staff were exceptionally gracious and helpful and we felt very welcome. The breakfasts and dinners included were delicious and extravagant and varied with each meal. We also liked how easy it was to visit other places in the area through Canbus and through the hotel’s free shuttle to Kagaonsen station. We would love to return, and would highly recommend staying at Ohanami Kyubei for a restorative and romantic vacation.

We love how authentic it all was. The room was super confortable but we did book at 8 people room for just 2. So is important to take that into condideration. It felt classical japanese and it there where a lot of locals. Food was delicious both dinner wich was amazing and breakfast

The onsen was totally Japanese in style and attention to detail, very relaxing and with a staff dedicated to providing the best service. They were attentive and helpful.
The forest near the onsen was beautiful for hiking and contemplating nature. Loved it.
I will definitely return and to the same onsen.

Small historic area with onsen (hot spring baths).
Small historic area with onsen (hot spring baths). Nice for strolling around, and there is a loop bus to take you to local attractions. Excellent resort hotels available. Area is known for crafts, and there are a number of nice shops showcasing the works of artisans. Many local people speak some English, but there are not a lot of Western tourists.

Kaga is a really nice area. The nature is great.
Kaga is a really nice area. The nature is great. We made soba noodles and ate the result! We painted lacquer bowls and enjoyed the scenery around our hotel. The Yamanaka area is particularly nice. We also went to the Motorcar Museum of Japan, which is a hidden gem and really enjoyed it. It’s also really close to many attractions in Fukui, if you have the time to visit them, like the Dinosaur Museum and the Fukui Rocks area. I’d recommend Kaga to anyone who wants to get a little off the beaten path.

BEST WAY TO SEE KAGA WAS THE 2 DAY PASS ON THE CAN BUS-ONE...
BEST WAY TO SEE KAGA WAS THE 2 DAY PASS ON THE CAN BUS-ONE DAY MOUNTAIN--- GORGEOUS TEMPLES/GARDENS, SIGHTSEEING!
AND 2ND DAY TO THE OCEAN CIRCLE TOUR. WEATHER WAS NOT AS NICE AS DAY 1 , BUT PREFERRED MOUNTAIN TOURS.
There was a bus stop right in front of the hotel, which is handy, and there was a convenience store kitty-corner. The bath water was also super hot, which I love. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very kind. No idea if they spoke English, but there were instructions in English for those who don't speak Japanese. Also, the futons were very thick for a ryoukan-styled hotel. If you're visiting the craft village, I recommend getting to Kagaonsen station the afternoon before and asking the info office about travel and coupons.
Nice japanese style room. Room was spacios, well prepared and aquiped. Great and interesting experience. Hotel provides public baths as well as provate bath for 3300 💴. We took a nice private bath. Recomend. As well you can order a massage or use a massage machine. Foot bath are as well very nice. Breakfast was japanese style, quite a good choice. At 21:00 there was a drums performance. There are a free hotel shuttle to take you from station. All in all great experiance.
Such a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The staff were always really friendly. My japanese isn't the best, but they really listened to any questions I had. I enjoyed the breakfast and the baths are beautiful! I felt so refreshed after my stay, the beds were so comfortable and the rooms were at a perfect temperature. The location is amazing. I love walking so walking around the local area is something I can really recommend.
The Kaiseki dinners were very good which included all you can eat shrimp and vegetable tempura including whole eggs in tempura and free beer and soft drinks. The individually served Japanese breakfast was a real treat because many other ryokans unfortunately now serve buffet breakfasts. The staff who served the Kaiseki dinners and breakfasts were excellent!! They were very friendly and caring.
Had an enjoyable and relaxing stay here. We travelled from Osaka for one night, which was quite out of our way but we wanted to try the onsen experience. The onsen itself was quite empty when we went - I was often the only person there. The food was plentiful with an interesting range of dishes to try.
We did the walk along the river which was a winter wonderland!
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They even brought kids size yukatas for my toddlers to wear during our short stay. Rooms were spacious. We took the shuttle bus from Kagaonsen station. Onsens were not crowded when we went. Dinner courses were amazing. There was so much food. Buffet style breakfast food was as expected. Also had access to their sister onsen.
- Good breakfast and dinner, my sons got hamburg .They loved it so much.
- our room got massage chair ,very relaxing.
-Big onsen with lots of shampoo selections.
-Lawsons is not far ,in walking distance.
-attentive staff with good english speaking at the hotel restaurant.
- very big room with tatami and living room.

Beautiful scenery can be viewed from the balcony of your room, and from the onsen. The staff were very friendly and patient when answering our questions with our little Japanese language knowledge. The food was exceptional, made the stay feel really special and memorable
The meals were our favorite in all of Japan. We loved the 10-course teppanyaki dinner, breakfast and afternoon pancakes. The hotel staff were extremely nice. We didn't speak Japanese but they had an English-speaking staff member. The onsen was fabulous too.
Stunning room with large private bath. Dinner at the restaurant was exceptional, the public onsens were really nice. Breakfast was excellent. Everything you'd expect from a quality hotel
They organise minibuses from Kagaonsen train station too
Akiko Morita and her staff were extremely helpful with something we had misplaced. She also assisted us by calling our next hotel to get their shuttle information for us. The hotel is huge and the onsen is nice.
the speciality of this Japanese style hotel is good nature views with sounds of river, able to reserve free private outdoor hot tabs. Foods are very good, services are good too.
Hotel staffs are very polite and attentive. Both meals covered were delicious and it was served in a private area. Room is spacious and comfortable with beautiful lake view.
The hotel was huge and the staff were very hospitable, extremely polite and helpful. Very good amenities in the hotel but may not be as accessible via public transport.
The staff were wonderful. So welcoming and friendly. We appreciate the morning and afternoon snacks provided by the hotel. Love the spacious common area.
