The hotel was a 30 minute walk from the ferry pier. We were unprepared for that and should have taken a “taxi.” Once we got there, the hotel was great. Large room, nice balcony, nice pool, and friendly staff. SaiRi area is abundant with good restaurants, once you get there.

I stayed in the room next to the reception, and the WiFi was excellent for my work and early morning calls. The pool was clean and beautiful, and the staff was very kind, accommodating all my requests. I was able to purchase a boat ticket from them as well. The bed was big and comfortable, and the price was reasonable considering everything else in town was either sold out or more expensive.

Great location in the middle of the Sairee beach area with minimal noise at night. Large spacious room with kitchenette (with fridge, sink, portable hob and microwave) and balcony at the front. Very clean and well maintained! Room had Aircon and an area from drying clothes etc on balcony.
The double bed was very comfy and clean linen. The room had a kettle and fridge perfect for a morning coffee on the balcony. Would highly recommend and I would stay again if I was in the area.

Lots to do particularly if you want to scuba or snorkel.
Lots to do particularly if you want to scuba or snorkel. In my opinion it's more an adult destination as lots of bars and people openly smoke cannabis. Lots of mopeds racing around small streets. The food is great and value for money. If you enjoy travelling, take a boat taxi to other beaches or book a tour. There is plenty to do and see.

Travelling to Samui I was really disappointed with the snorkelling, luckily I had spare time at the end of the holiday where I hadn't booked & we took a 3 night trip to Koh Tao. It had the best beaches in Thailand in my opinion. Sairee beach had great restauarants, the Thai people were amazing (although this is the same wherever you go in Thailand). Getting around you really need a moped, which might put some people off.

A few days is nice here as it is a small island.
A few days is nice here as it is a small island. Great for diving and snorkling. However:
- The coral is dead unfortunately, the few turtles are harrassed by tourists and are not treated nicely, Shark bay is owned by a resort and they profit from the tourism to the sharks. I advice to stay away from this part.
- The island is not genuine Thai culture experience anymore but overrun by tourists unfortunately (March 2024). In the town there is not a spot without a scooter and party places. Weed places and stores everywhere and Western food. I would not recommend the town to people looking for culture, for genuine Thai experiences (except some restaurants) or for a quiet holiday if you stay close to town. Go look for accomodations far from the town centre and you will have an amazing time though (Jungle, freedom beach etc.)
- Scooters are for experienced people only, we saw too many crashes/falls and people with severe injuries. It is really not worth it to rent a scooter if you do not know how to drive uphill/mountains and on the left side. If you go for it, wear at least a helmet and your children too. So many people with babies? and little kids? without a helmet, like are you really risking that?
- Most of it you can just walk, walk or take a taxi if you are unknown with scooters

Our villa with own pool was the best.
Our villa with own pool was the best. If you dive and you are in your 20s you enjoy the place a lot. If you are older, it’s quickly seen.
Sairee beach area is not my place . Other parts of the island I did not see; difficult to go around.
I missed vegetables to eat on this island but fresh fruit shakes, I loved. Local food was cheap but delicious especially seafood.

Koh Tao isn't the biggest of islands, you can hire scooters but some of the island is different to access via scooter.
We stayed in Mae Haad and there are plenty of restaurants/bars to choose from some of them being beachfront.

The roads to many places are insanely steep.
The roads to many places are insanely steep. Two people on a rental motorbike could not make it up some hills. We are not heavy people and a couple times one had to get off and walk. Alternatively if you think your going to taxi everywhere bring a large stack of cash. 300-400 THB each way, everywhere you go and that''s an 8 min drive. Islands pretty small. Best to have a rental motorbike for each person but even that was to scary for my partner. Also this island is really all about diving and partying. Excellent if that's you jam.
It's an awesome place. Amazing vibes. Really chill home like set up. It's on the other side of the island... Vs. Sairee beach where most of the stuff is happening. But depending on what you want from the trip, you can weigh the pros and cons. I wanted some peace and calm once I am back in my room, and pahili does that with ease and panache! Natz, who is part of the team there was a super amazing host - she literally was available all day on WhatsApp for immediate solutions to anything we needed. Thanks a lot Natz for everything!
Views were out of this world.
unique style make the stay really special.
hammock was so relaxing and resort was peaceful.
owner was so helpful.
breakfast was lovely.
to get to anywhere on the island is 300 bht through the hotel. which is still cheaper than external companies.
we walked to the treehouse for food which was nice.
spent the day at another beach, the owner ensured we got there and arranged a pick up time to.
if we were to go again would rent a moped for 200 bht (5000 deposit) to get around as only way!
The view from our room was beautiful and our balcony overlooked Shark Bay. Staff were super lovely and always available to answer our questions and help us with anything we needed such as transport to other parts of the island, etc. Food at the restaurant was delicious! And location was great, close enough to walk to Chalok baan kao bay which was the best beach we visited on our trip to Thailand!
The location is their strong point.
The view from every little home is stunning, offering a panoramic on this colourful and quite bay.
The hotel is very close to the most beautiful beaches of Ko Tao and to the two best view point of the island.
The room was clean when we arrived and they made it up every day.
The staff was nice and helpful.
Peaceful and quiet hotel that’s also walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Comfortable room with AC, window, balcony and mountain view. The staff were friendly and helped me with snorkeling tour, motorbike rental, laundry, and transportation to Hua Hin. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
Fairly close to the pier, view was very nice, a pick up on arrival would have been nice even if it wasn’t free. The breakfast was very good each morning but never really changed to much. Pool was a bonus. Beach area at the hotel was very small but a short distance away was a larger public beach area.
We love this place! The views, the Infiniti pool looking out over the beach with great cocktails, the access to great snorkeling, the white sand beach, the restaurant, the friendly staff, and the natural beauty of the hotel set among the granite boulders and lush gardens are all wonderful.
Amazing views from the hotel, which is a nice short distance from the busy area of Sairee Beach. Lovely pool, and one of the few places where it doesn’t feel like they’ve cramped as much accommodation as they can into small spaces. One of the best breakfasts of our month in SE Asia.
We stayed here for 2 nights when arriving to Koh Tao as we wanted to stay in a quieter area. The beach outside is lovely (probably one of the best on the island).
Coffee in the hotel is great and staff are lovely. Nice big room with balcony and aircon.
Lots of people diving
Amazing private Freedom Beach, one of the best in Thailand for the view and relaxing under the trees, accessible from the hotel.
Not for swimming, but snorkeling and reading.
Great service from the staff, very good and helpful people.
Great location, on top of a hill with great views.
Away from the busier Sairee beach but with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Free shuttle from the hotel to the beach and pier was quite helpful and the staff super friendly!
We loved everything. The hotel has a really amazing location next to the beach on the quiet side of the island. The beds were comfy, the AC worked pretty well, and the staff was always available. We highly recommend this place
I loved the location! It was on a quiet part of Sairee Beach which also included a Diving School/Center (which I was certified at), had a pleasant restaurant, and delightful staff that were oft willing to serve n assist.
Beautiful view from the balcony. The beach was okay but very good snorkeling (free to borrow snorkeling gear from hotel)
Would recommend renting a motorcycle to get around the island easily and cheap.
Beautiful, clean, modern, great central + beach location, dorms have a built in curtain so much privacy, organised activities. I tried 3 hostels in Ko Tao and this one is by far the best one.
Nice swimming pool. Rooms next to the pool are new and modern. Average breakfast. Hotel close to the best beach for snorkelling on the island. Free transfer to the pier.
I think this’s the best hotel it Thailand ive ever stayed for same price. Especially people there so kind and friendly. Also service and room everything perfect 👌
very nice boutique hotel in Ko tao ! nice and confortable with eco friendly details - you’ll need a scooter to get around but you can directly rent one in the hotel
