FAQs about hotels in Boston

Where Everybody Knows Your Name

One of the oldest and most historic US cities, Boston is known as "America’s Walking City". In its heart, next to 18th-century Faneuil Hall, is Quince Market - a food haven. In the nearby seaport, you can take a whale-watching trip or dine at one of the many restaurants serving a Boston specialty: lobster with melted butter.

The streets south of the peaceful Charles River in Back Bay are lined with Victorian brownstone houses. At the downtown end of one – Beacon Street – is the Cheers bar, modeled on the 80's sitcom. Opposite is Boston Common, a large park with a bronze sculpture celebrating the book "Make Way for Ducklings". The golden dome of the House of Representatives is by the other end.

The oldest part is Charlestown and streets around the Bunker Hill obelisk still feature old-style gas lamps, though now they are electric. Over in Cambridge, Harvard is the USA’s oldest and most prestigious university. The campus is open to the public, as is Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), whose central point is an emblematic, Pantheon-like building.

Sport in Boston is also a big thing, with the Celtics and Red Sox among the city’s big name teams.

The largest New England city, Boston has the perfect size for walking and cycling. Logan International Airport is connected by public transport to Boston hotels, motels, apartments and B&Bs.

Loved the fact the hotel was Central and that Boston is easily walkable. Cobble stones and damaged pavements everywhere in older part, North side much easier to walk around. Some great shops & restaurants, surpringly, not much veggie unless you count green salad. Everywhere felt safe and comfy to walk round. A week is just enough time for a visit. For those GF and Vegan I can't recommend Jennifer Lee enough, amazing sandwiches and cakes. Pho also great for vegan food. If you're a carnivore pretty much anywhere is great for you. We did the hop on hop off Trolley Bus tour one day which was great, some guides were good, others not so much. Tbe Freedom Trail was really interesting, guide was helpful and gave loads of interesting facts on top of the historical info.

Hampton Inn Seaport is an excellent location for walking to the convention center, and easy access to downtown Boston. We walked along Summer Street to central Boston at night, about a 30 minute walk. Uber or Bus #7 are convenient for returning to the hotel from downtown. Several restaurants are nearby including Harpoon Brewing. The hotel is clean and fresh with helpful staff. Excellent breakfast each morning during our 3 day stay. We parked at Marine parking garage, an easy walk from the hotel.

We love staying here after long flights. The harbor view from the room was spectacular. The rooms are huge and comfy. The restaurant is excellent. The staff are super-friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to the airport with a continuous shuttle service. I you want, the water taxi to downtown Boston is right outside the door.  It's not exactly cheap, but the price is quite reasonable considering the room, view, location and restaurant. We had a lovely stay at the Colonnade. The beds where so comfortable (it may have been the best hotel bed I've ever slept on), and the rooms where spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 kids to stay comfortably. The hotel was perfectely situated near public transport, a shopping centre and so central that we could get onto the Freeway quickly and easily. Next time we are in Boston we will definitely stay at the Colonnade again. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The location, first of all, cannot be beat. If you need to be in the center of Boston and are on a budget. This place is perfect. It's not a luxury experience. But it's safe, quiet and the wifi worked without a problem. The a/c and heating worked, the shower worked great - good water pressure and temperature. If you like no-frills and amazing deals hotel travel, this is a great place to stay.
