We took the cable car up and down. Very interesting medieval castle. The views from there are to die for, even in the rain. The restaurant was a bit pricey and a bit slow, but the food was good and soflee was delicious.
My husband and I loved the fortress-but be prepared to climb lots of steps. Also, the earlier you go, the better! We did the early bird (before 10am) and were really happy we did because the crowds get bigger as the day goes on.
Love the Fortress, history is well preserved, take the audio walking tour for sure. Plan several hours to just walk around and have lunch there too. Definitely attend a Mozart concert in the castle if you can, it's amazing.
We took the tour including river cruise followed by dinner at Panorama Restaurant on top of fortress and classical music concert after the dinner. Restaurant has fantastic views of the city, and the concert was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.
Great views. The dinner and concert was fine but I would recommend eating elsewhere. The meal was lackluster and over priced. The concert setting was intimate. A small 7-8 member ensemble played for 45-60 minutes, followed by a 15-20 minute break, and another 45 minutes of music.
Great historic landmark, poorly managed! We were with a couple who speak fluent German and even they couldn't find directions or parking info, let alone how to get to the funicular. In typical Euro fashion, they have zero regard for visitor comfort but always manage to stick over priced gift shops and restaurants in your face. The exhibits are quite impressive and great for war history buffs.
