Hotels near Halifax Public Gardens, Halifax

Excellent location. Superb customer service

A nice hotel at the center of Halifax. A Nice clean room, friendly staff and an excellent location.

Staff was very helpful and accommodating. One of us had a medical accident on the waterfront and the staff (Alex) assisted us by providing us with first aid materials and quickly extended our check out time as we headed to the emergency room. Upon returning staff inquired how the injured individual was and made check out seamless. Thank you!

A nice vibe, coffee in the lobby in the morning, hot cookies on arrival, friendly staff, the view. Valet parking was very affordable.

Very convenient location. I was there for a conference but it is very easy to walk from the hotel to downtown and the waterfront. There are many excellent restaurants within walking distance too. I loved the room and the bed and the shower - slept very well. I asked for early arrival and they obliged in spades, my room was ready before 11!!! I had a terrible flight on the way here and this helped my comfort tremendously.

Great location, excelent facilities, personalized service and attention. High class accomodations filled with details that made us feel at home.

Clean, well looked after, very good staff

Very nice and professional staff

It was stylishly decorated, clean and in a great location near the shore.

Very helpful and friendly staff

The breakfast is ok: I'd give it 6/10. The bread choices are white or wheat - so personally speaking, the breakfasts have only what is essential. The muffins are stale - every single morning, I eat a hard muffin that has the consistency of having been left on in the open about 10 days - the muffins are tasty but have strangely hard crust throughout. I mean - try one, they are hard throughout and it is always that way with your muffins. I have never experienced breakfast at another Best Western like that. Muffins generally have a soft texture like bread. What is most important in a hotel to clients? 1) A comfortable bed, and 2) breakfast and 3) food for later. As a role model for your establishment, the Glengarry in Truro is the best planned Best Western that I have come across, in terms of breakfast. Their breakfast is a 10/10 - there is nothing further they could do - it would please all of their guests. The difference between Chocolate Lake and the Glengarry is that there, they care more about their guest experiences: There is multi-grain bread for people like me who have wheat allergies. There is a little dish filled with chocolate chips and nuts for the yogurt - which is not expensive and makes the experience of breakfast different from home. Glengarry goes way outside - and has someone with a station - and an employee with a small frying pan and a burner and he makes fresh omelettes! Amazing! He has little containers with onions, green pepper, mixed veg, cheese, bacon and he mixes it all up and viola - a perfect omelette. That's why their facility is a 10/10 and Chocolate Lake overall is in my view a 7/10. The breakfast is just ok, so I don't eat in the restaurant because you charge the prices of a 9/10 hotel but I am expecting the same type of food quality as the breakfast choices, so I don't do the restaurant.

Location is great. Dartmouth is on the airport side of the bridge to Halifax, making it easy to get to/from the airport without bridge traffic. Halifax waterfront only 15 minute drive. Staff was AMAZING, so friendly and helpful. Really went the extra mile. Great breakfast. Don't let "continental breakfast" fool you. This is not your typical waffle machine, cereal and frozen omelet hotel breakfast. It's a great spread, including smoked fish and yogurt that's not in a plastic container. Beds were very comfortable. We would come definitely come here again if we're in this area.

Breakfast was OK- there should be some additional options so a diabetecs can eat but overall was fine.

Great location to Bayers Lake shopping and restaurants. Clean room, towels were to the fluffier side. Staff were friendly and pleasant. We did not take part in the continental breakfast as my husband is not a fan of such. So we visited elsewhere for breakfast. Our bed was very comfortable. Very quiet hotel.

Breakfast options was limited but good enough. The staff service was exceptional.

Excellent location close to restaurants and having a good restaurant themselves. Our room was large and clean and well stocked with what you would expect. Heating and air conditioning worked well and hot water right away. Parking was close and enclosed.

The location was excellent! We travelled to Halifax for my grandson's taekwondo tournament, and the venue was right across the hotel. It's clean and the rooms are spacious and clean, too. Breakfast was good. Will surely recommend to our friends and hopefully will come back.

the room was excellent - spacious , well, appointed, clean - the bathroom was perfect - well lit, super clean , heated floor and lovely toiletries

The location was perfect for our first time visit, and easy walk to all waterfront attractions. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable. All the staff we came in contact with were knowledgeable about the area and very helpful.

Clean, well laid out and modern room. Nice breakfast on site. Proximity to waterfront was a plus.

Reception and structure and location

Everything. Sunny staff, helpful and full of smiles. Beds so comfy, totally satisfied with room. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent service, funky decor, great food and drinks - love the complimentary drink tokens! Pac-Man and foosball table, giant connect four and Jenga. Convenient location - especially for any Scotiabank centre events.
