Caso de Campo was an unexpected city centre delight. A lovely wooded area just across from the Royal Palace with lake, zoo, amusement park and loads of trails for walking a cycling. We spent a lovely day wandering around.
This is a huge park! It’s nothing compared to Retiro, so don’t expect it to be nice in that way. But you can find the Zoo and Amusement Park. Tried the Zoo for the first time, honestly didn’t like it. Waste of money… but Casa de Campo is great for a good run.
We took the cable car to here. This enormous park is probably better enjoyed in the summer but was certainly full of locals walking, running, cycling and exercising their dogs, Spanish people really know how to use the outdoors.
Tkake a roasted chicken and some cold cider, it is the tradition and have a picnic. There are a few roasted chicken places near by. Great place to loose yourself in a walk. it also has the Zoo of Madrid, and a theme park of Madrid (the only one inside Madrid)
Spacious, clean, well equipped apartment. Great location for, especially for Casa de Campo and the Royal Palace. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating, for example by by letting us check in late (past midnight), providing detailed instructions on how to get there by car, and letting us leave our car and luggage at the underground parking before our evening flight.
