A great place to visit just so you can say you've been. Souvenirs are extremely expensive particularly for us Aussies who have a pretty terrible exchange rate currently. Lovely piece of history, but in reality just about everything in the shape is well and truly out of the 'ordinary' person's price range.
The best place in all of England to people watch. Go to the “grocery” area. The foods are fantastic! The chocolatier has so many varieties! At at the restaurant which had the best eclair! Complete with gold leaf!
I have not been in this place for a long time as every time I did go, the staff seem to make you feel less than anything lower than a pleb. They look at you up & down & won't offer service. I found one older lady who works on the lower floor who was so nice & disgusted when I told her how I felt the other staff members treated me. It wasn't just one time either, I tried going in to that place about 4-5 times with the same experience so I vowed never to return. It doesn't stop me from buying a Harrods Teddy every time I leave the airport though :-)
My grand daughters [11 and 9] love visiting Harrods to gawp at everything, , and the food halls are no where near as expensive as you would expect. Often on a par with other outlets. We pick up our pic-nic here before heading to Kensington Park, there are always offers on in the chocolate hall. Take time to look at the splendid tiles in the food halls too!
Now Harrods is a must it’s old huge iconic building, which was once owned by Fyad , whose son Dodie, along with princess Dianna met their deaths in a Paris car crash. Fyad then sold the store. The store itself is vast and has expensive beautiful goods, where you can purchase most of yr designer wear and exclusive named cosmetics. Most elites royals ECT shop here. Well worth a visit even if you don’t want to spend, it is an experience in itself.
I always pay a visit to Harrods whenever I'm in London. This time, shopping was not as good as in the past, with many items (such as wines & spirits) costing more than what you can buy them for in other fine stores. The quality of the food in the Food Hall has deteriorated drastically. The quality of the roast chicken, sushi & oysters are all not what they used to be, and they are more expensive to boot. I was quite disappointed this time around.
Kensington and Chelsea, London
The location was amazing and easy to find. The neighbourhood was beautiful. The shops were one road away and had everything you needed. Travelling was very convenient and the 74 bus line went to Kensington, Harrods and Oxford street, as well as the Underground being easy to access. The hosts were extremely kind and helped with all our needs.
Amazing staff and service. Great hotel as expected from Jumeirah Group. Good location next to Harrods too
There are many small shops to explore, but Harrods is the most amazing! You can spend the entire day there and probably not see it all. There are plenty of places to eat along the way too! You can have proper tea there as well in a very sweet little room (literally sweet ... full of sweets and very feminine looking!) Harrods will have everything you need!
It has all the usual chain store shops plus lots of other unique shops, eg Harrods and hamleys.
Choice of shops from main stores, High Street brands to boutiques and quirky markets selling all sorts - Harrods etc.
Harrods us a must, afternoon tea in the restaurant was a special treat!
Harrods in particular is a shop that has to be visited. Something for everyone's taste for people of all ages
Everything is available in London's great shopping streets and world famous major stores - Harrods - Fortnum & Masons - Selfriges and others
