Lovely guest house about 10 mins walk from old town. Luxury rooms and amenities. Very cosy given it was Christmas season and decorated in true English style. Even had the friendliest older cat who followed us in the door each night.

The main building is just stunning and the staff were all lovely without exception. The spa is really nice and it's a lovely walk into York. Also one of the best breakfasts I've ever had.

Highly recommend this hotel. Location was great, really clean and comfortable. Breakfast delicious and ample. Reception staff were very helpful especially Steven who couldn't do enough for us. A real asset to the hotel. We'll be back.

Excellent historic and lovely interesting views and sense of...

Excellent historic and lovely interesting views and sense of years gone past. Beautiful sunny warm day and a relatively non busy Sunday in May this year (2025), made the walk even more enjoyable. Did 3/4 of the walk in 2 stints.
