Prato della Valle
Shaped more like a massive ellipse than a square, it’s easy to see that Prato della Valle was built on the ruins of a Roman amphitheatre. The grassy island in the centre provides a much-beloved green space for Paduans and visitors alike, and on Saturdays there is a lovely market. On any day of the week, the park makes for a wonderful afternoon of relaxing.

There is also a DeSpar grocery very nearby fashioned into the city gate at Prato della Valle.
