Location - close to station & major attractions. Nice room, larger than most Japanese hotels, comfy bed, nice overall feel. Ask for a room with a view of Himeji Castle - 50% of the rooms face that way.

The hotel is in a superb location, just 10 minute walk from the Himeji JR station, and 10-15 minute walk to Himeji castle. It was very clean, with a nice toilet and a comfortable bed. I recommend this place for travelers doing a trip around Japan, when they are looking for a nice and well located spot for exploring Himeji.

The hotel is a 5 minutes walk from the train station and the main entertainment/shopping/restaurant street leading up to Himeji castle. It's a great spot, both close to everything and quiet. The room was big for a single room in Japan and the blinds were amazing - they didn't let in the sun at all, perfect for a peaceful night. The hotel has some nice extras you can grab for your room for free, including drip coffee and bath salts, both very appreciated.

Hotel Monterey Himeji is directly next to the JR train station and conveniently located off the main street that leats to Himeji Castle. It is a modern structure that is immaculately clean. The hotel room is decent sized with comfortable beds and excellent bathroom. A very good buffet breakfast is served with made-to-order omelettes and a great variety of Japanese and Western choices.

Liked: great beds, kind staff, and probably the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. I met a few people from different countries and the atmosphere was great. It's about a 10 minute walk from two stations and very close to Himeji castle. I was even given a face mask and two towels. I really liked this hostel and I would absolutely stay here again. Something to note: noises from outside could be heard easily from inside the room, however, I still slept great.

conveniently located opposite of to railway station and many restaurants and shops, 20mins walk from Himeji castle. Friendly staff, nice lounge, very quiet, lots of space, separate luggage area (unlike so many other hostels), brand new and super clean, has even a manga library! nice decoration. Beds have private tv/screen.

The location of the hotel is very good, a few minutes' walk from the metro station, about a 20-minute walk from Himeji Castle and a 4-minute walk from a shopping mall. Outside the hotel there is 7-Eleven store. The room is not big with a comfortable bed and a comfortable desk to work on. There is a good breakfast at the hotel. Great value for money.
