Hotel in Kobe Bay Area, Kobe
Just a 3-minute walk from Kobe’s Meriken Park, Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel features 5 dining choices. Rooms have free WiFi and a balcony with park or harbor views. There was a meeting in Kobe, so I took the plunge and made a reservation. It is a familiar night view of Kobe, but the view from the room on the north side of the 7th floor was fresh and very beautiful. There was Meriken Park under my eyes, a port tower in front of me, a mountain in the back, and the familiar Kobe mark was shining. Also recommended for couples. You will have a very good time.

Chuo Ward, Kobe City Centre, and Arima Onsen are popular with other travelers visiting Kobe.
Kobe is an underrated city in the Kansai region. Being less crowded than Osaka, it makes it one of the best place to stay in Kansai area. Rooms are generally cheaper as well, with great sightseeing around. The only thing is that the city sleeps earlier than Osaka, shops close by 8pm.
The local tourist bus loop is really worthwhile - ideal for jumping on and off to see sights and get your bearings as Kobe is really three places ( we figured that out on our last day). Plenty to see and do, with a lovely shrine tight near our hotel, Centurian Hotel. Kobe has a great Museum of Carpentry- a must see if you like wood. A totally different feel in Kobe -a harbour side city type feel-relaxed and open. The ropeway and gardens are a. nice way to spend several hours.
I recommend Arima Onsen. It is a charming, mountain hot spring town. It is easily accessible from downtown Kobe; in fact, one could hike there (over the mountains), which would be the best way to get there, provided one has time. Above all, the washoku (Japanese cuisine) there is simple, but wonderful. You can get local craft beer on tap as well. Finally, head for the Tokyu Resort Hotel and then start up the mountain. Within one to one and a half hours, you will be on top of Mt. Rokko. The views in all directions are superb.
Arima Onsen is a charming little hot spring town full of narrow alleyways and winding streets. This unit was located on just such a street; you will love it, and feel that you are part of the town, not a tourist isolated in an antiseptic hotel . Cafe de Beau was wonderful as well. Try a locally brewed beer in one of the cafes, too Also, try to go during November, when the leaves are changing color... and bring hiking shoes. (Walk to the top of Mt. Rokko from Arima Onsen; it is a fabulous hike.)
One of the best trips we had just recently. It was a short one but we had a great time. Visited Harbor land, spent a walk around down town and it was so attractive. Will surely come back here again next time.
Kobe beef is the obvious attraction here, but just be warned that the cut of the steak matters as much as the quality of the beef. Quality beef but non-quality part will not greatly improve your meal experience, but yet cost you a heft sum. Himeji Castle is in the neighbouring Himeji town and great to explore, about 1 hour's train ride from Kobe.
The hotel is very near to restaurants and shop. It is also near train station and bus stop that is very much convenient in visiting kobe’s tourist spot and other beautiful and a must see places like kobe port tower, mosaic, china town, sannomiya etc... the facility is quite new and clean. Comfortable bed and a very good air-condition system specially this summer season. It also have a very good water flow. We really enjoy the bath and shower. The breakfast is good too. Over all we have a very good stay.
The room is quite spacious for the price, the bathroom is very clean and bright. Love the interior of the hotel! Breakfast (supposed to be buffet; but they changed it to meal set) was delicious. We changed our breakfast from 3 times to just once and they were very helpful and understanding about it. Location of the hotel is great, we went for a food adventure and we could go by food to Motomachi (China town) and or to Sannomiya where there are many Kobe Beef Restaurants.
The terrace is amazing. The common room is so japanese and comfy, perfect for a shared meal with the housemates!! You can play the guitar.... There are three types of Playstation.. The air con (that if you travel during summertime will be really helpful)... And litterally, down the stairs there's a convenient store if you need anything 24h. Plus!! Few steps away from Kobe arcade, where you can find cheap and cool food.
I had a late check-in, so luckily I got an upgrade to the suite, which is really great. I chose this hotel because the breakfast is very famous. It is indeed one of the best I've had in Japan at this price range (under 10,000JPY per night per person). It lacks the variety I was expecting, but the taste is very good.
Beautiful area in Kobe, walked to Starbucks, the mall area, plenty of restaurants, good food options, paid extra for a deluxe room with more space than most Japanese hotel rooms. Short walk to play outside and explore Earthquake Memorial, Maritime Museum and the Port Tower.
Kobe
The Japanese style room was very beautiful, the breakfast very nice. But I mostly recommend this hotel for the internal onsen which was the best I never tried. Super beautiful and big, with different spaces both indoor and outdoor. Very recommend
I have visited a lot of business type hotel in Japan. This one is excellent value. Highly recommend and do get the double bed. A lot of biz hotels in Japan have sandbag like pillows; not here. Pillows very nice.
Good value for money and good size room, especially for a Japanese hotel with the rating considered. Very clean and efficient when housekeeping. The hotel does what it says on the tin, well done!
Excellent Japanese breakfast. Conveniently located a short walk from Sannomiya Station. Very helpful staff, who kindly posted to our next hotel an item which we had left behind.
Old Japanese style building; nice garden view; onsen was private bath at all times because there was only one other couple staying at the hotel; excellent food; worth any penny
Staff very nice and understanding that I only knew a little bit of Japanese. Worth the rock climbing wall and slide. Very big suite Comfy bed Morning breakfast was terrific.
Kobe
It was my first time in traditional japanese hotel, and I 'm happy that i chose this one. Stuff was super polite, room was clean and bath was beautiful!
Kobe
Room is clean and cozy. Staff is so kind and generous. There is a public bath near the hotel, where you can taste Japanese OFURO culture.
Excellent hotel. Location perfect. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Very nice room and big for Japan. Good breakfast
Perfect for quick stay in Kobe. Clean, comfortable and everything one would expect from Japanese hotel room.
Location is good, room is bigger than usual hotel rooms in Japan.
We wanted a typical Japanese hotel, it certainly fitted the bill
Kobe
An Impressive Japanese Hotel. Very beautiful view in my room.
