I loved sightseeing at the Port Tower, Sorakuen Garden, Chinatown, and Meriken Park, as well as hanging out at Harborland with the wholesome Anpanman Museum and Mall. I wish I had spent less time shopping at Center Plaza and more time seeing other cool sites! My time and funds were limited so I couldn't see potentially cool things like the Herb Garden, Animal Kingdom, or Arima Onsen. I would like to come back and sightsee with my family. The trains seem slower than other places I've been in Japan, but getting around is pretty simple. I also had a great time hanging out with other people in my hostel and practicing Japanese!
I was impressed with Suma Aquarium Park... There was a fun show and fun learning personally. Although, sometimes around winter you need to be careful with their splash. I ate in Sannomia Train Station areas, they had so many restaurant and shopping locations in that station, which was bigger and many than I expected so I had hard time too decide what to eat. I ate Chicken & Egg Bowl, fresh and delicious. Trains were much easier to understand than of other big cities in Japan including Tokyo, not many people as well. I enjoyed my trip and overall view.
A nice city to walk around. Lots of restaurants, shopping spots, hair salons and spas. We felt this city more affordable than Osaka. View of the city from Mount Maya at night was incredible. Must go. It is only a 20 minute ride from Sannomiya station by bus no:18. Luminarie was also nice.
It’s a cozy city, near some of the larger, famous touristy areas. Known for its interesting cafes, consider booking a rest day here and explore some interesting cafes (especially Green House Silva, and Starbucks in the Kitano district). A fun weekend getaway location for people already living in Japan.
A unique city to travel around. Fancier city than Osaka but easier to find local restaurants and foods. You can get to most places within 20~ 30 minutes walk. Close to the nature and well reserved history within the city.
like typical Japanese cities, Kobe is a safe, clean, and convenient place to have a trip. one can enjoy both traditional and modern japanese atmospheres. Foods are nice, and wide range of prices. Kobe-kyu is fantastic despite its high price.

Easy to get to via Monorail from JR’s Sumiyoshi Station. The hotel property is well maintained. The size of the twin room is fairly generous compared to other hotels in Japan. No noise from neighbors. Good air conditioning. The hotel’s main attraction is Onsen (hot springs). The spa is spacious and nicely done. Buffet breakfast is very good if you get seated at the Cafe. One day it was very crowded, and we ended up in the Sports Bar where they only offered limited food selections.

The staff is really friend and helpful. They offer pickup service from train station. Really like the Japanese style hotel with tatami. Room is spacious and clean. Water was boiled and kept warm before our arrival so we can drink tea whenever we want. Our room has a mountain view which offers Sakura view. The hotel has indoor and outdoor hot spring bath. Operating time is 15:00 to 9:30 the next day. Really enjoyed a before-sleep and morning bath in the outdoor hot spring.
8.9 Excellent 800 reviews
The hotel is situated in Arima Onsen not in Kobe. This place is famous for its hot baths so you can for example take a foot bath just in the street. If you want to feel the Japanese hospitality this hotel is the place to stay in. I liked the atmosphere of the hotel and it’s traditions.

Bathrobes were given, which is quite rare in some hotels. Awesome breakfast spread, both Japanese and Western. The hotel room is very nostalgic. Easily accessible to downtown Sannomiya with lots of Kobe beef restaurants.
8.0 Very Good 1,136 reviews
The room wasn't as small as I've experienced in other hotels in Japan, the bathroom was actually spacious (meaning one can move inside, not just fit inside like in some other hotels). Location was good and quiet.
8.9 Excellent 5,459 reviews
The hotel is beautiful, clean, and located right in all the action of the Kobe Port area. The hotel rooms were the largest we have seen in our 3 weeks traveling around Japan.
