Wonderful room. Perfect location. Friendly and helpful staff.

Loved the lake, so beautiful and unexpected. Functional layout and good washroom. Very good overall.

Very comfortable, extremely clean, great location and excellent breakfast

Great bed, tasty breakfast, kind and helpful staff

I am registered as disabled with Ziekte Parkinson's and as a result my walking and general mobility is limited. However these challenges for me represented no problem to the staff at Chao. They treated me as a normal person; every request was met with kind accommodation - even plugging my scootmobile to the mains electricity. I am grateful for the assistance and courtesy. I shall stay there again.

Interior of the hotel was fascinating. There is a big organ! Nice open spaces and kitchen. Staff helps everywhere. Espresso Martini. Late breakfast. Surroundings, especially the wild canal. The yellow cat.

We loved this little "cave" by the canal! We loved the privacy, having chairs and a table provided so we could sit outside by the canal, and it was also so cozy! This was really a suite, with a separate sitting area inside (in addition to the outside seating). The location was perfect, as we could walk to museums, restaurants, and just explore Utrecht.

The room was wonderful, I especially liked the little nook by the windows. I'd often relax up there with my Switch, and take in the sounds.

firstly, we arrived late after a long trip and the receptionist really made our evening! He was very cheerful and helpful! the room was perfect: very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and amazing shower.

Nice room and amenities, space was about exactly what we needed it to be.

Liked to room and location. 32 steep steps a lot for older clients

Super friendly host, location perfect right near lots of bars and restaurants. Amazing view of the city. Can't wait to come back.

Everything! We love this place, one of our favorite places we stayed during our 4 weeks of traveling this summer. The owner is lovely and has thought of everything. Wine, coffee, recommendations for the area. My husband had to work a few days while we were here and the internet was very good. We loved having coffee or a drink by the canal, slow mornings and relaxing evenings were great watching the boats and paddlers go by.

Central area and people were very friendly

The rooms were so cosy, and the breakfast was magnificent. There was always tea, coffee, and water available in the breakfast room, which had a warm and inviting atmosphere, cosier than most cafés.

Great location for area of Utrecht where I was visiting family. Bus service right on the corner and nearly all buses go to/from central station. Dining very close by. Reasonable on site breakfast with variety.

Step out of the hotel and you are surrounded by the streets, shops and cafes of Utrecht. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was very smart and comfortable and everywhere was beautifully clean. The curtains are the best anywhere for blocking out light so you sleep well. The room was quiet because we were at the back (this did mean no view but was ok as we were just staying overnight). I really wish I could have stayed longer.

The room & common rooms were designed beautifully. The bed was very comfortable.

The room, location, and staff were perfect!

Fantastic room, bed, location, and accommodation! Definitely would be happy to stay again!

The house is an unusual vintage house, once a historic family home. As older visitors my sister and I appreciated having a spacious room on the ground floor. The location of this hotel is exceptional as it is only yards from the ancient centre of the city. There are inevitably steps up into the hotel , though with two good handrails, (which would not suit anyone with mobility difficulties.) the historic nature of the house prevents the construction of a lift. The plus side is an experience of real character. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom well designed.
