NH hotel has some of the best staff I've encountered at a hotel. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast had a lot of options which was very good, I was extremely impressed. The location is also a great point for them; a less than 10 minute walk from both the train station and the city center. All in all a great stay in Amersfoort!

The hotel is centrally located within the old town, within mins to shopping and food. Staff are extremely helpful and approachable, Room is very clean and sufficiently spacious! Have a meal at Hete Kolen, amazing food

The room was clean, warm, and reasonably appointed. The bed was comfortable without being unduly soft, with a nice duvet and extra pillows. The bathroom was sufficiently spacious for a single man. The men at the reception desk were courteous and friendly, if not overtly outgoing nor pre-emptively helpful (i.e., they checked me in and greeted me with a smile at each passing; but, I did not ask them for information or advice, so cannot speak to their expertise in that regard). The location is excellent with respect to both accessibility and as a base for exploring the Centrum: it was a simple walk from the train station, being located on the station-side of the Centrum and just across the outer (first) ring-canal; and you can easily walk the entire old city from the hotel, find groceries and supplies and banking very close by, and even stroll up to Schothorst park in nearly a straight line (with a zigzag around Sint-Joriskerk). The presence of the tower makes it easy to navigate back from wherever you've wandered without paying much attention to where you've gone: just look for the spire and head back to it! The primary detraction is the noise: if you're looking for a quiet location to relax, this is not it. You'll be above a busy entertainment and market square, and the windows are surprisingly thin, such that everything happening in the square will sound like it's in your lap. Gregarious and loud reveling continues in the square until 0300 on weeknights and 0530 on Friday (during mid-November; later in summer?) and morning preparations (moving chairs, assembling tents and vendors' structures, leaf-blowing, etc.) begins around 0800; with the tower chiming every half hour all night long and accompanied by tunes from its carillon, on the half-hour, starting at 0900. If you're sensitive to such noises, getting five hours of sleep could be considered a very restful night and around three hours not abnormal.

What a gem of a place. Good sized rooms with a forest view. Although near the motorway (so easily accessible) you can't hear any road noise at all. Staff friendly. Not tea/coffee making in room but free tea/coffee accessible in the lobby that you can have there in comfort or take to your room. Great ground to walk in.15 minutes by car to Amersfoort. Staff friendly. Free parking Excellent free breakfast Restaurant down the road was amazing.

Good location, 5-10 minutes' walk from the train station and with Koppelpoort and the historic city centre also within walking distance. Good view from the upper floor windows. Comfortable bed, adjustable AC and coffee machine in the room.

We liked the location…on a quiet street, yet close to stores and restaurants. Our room was bright and quiet…and tastefully decorated with original art on the walls. The host was friendly and very helpful…we appreciated having a fridge on our floor to use as there isn’t one in the room. The breakfast was very good too. One of our best stays!

The room was super nice and warm. If you love to run early in the morning and have an absolute silent night this is the right place. The place is located within the woods reachable by car and public transport

I dread going to the Netherlands, because of the cooking, but here the breakfast and dining were all excellent. During coffee breaks, the dried fruit & such were also way better than the usual fare. Well done!

It's an older location and not in the new Van der Valk style, but they managed to upgrade the rooms to the same level. So it's really good!

Good Location not far from.Ammersfoort in small wasy to walk village, beautiful area. Employee gave us a tour of the historic place with the old history behind it. Good parking, nice room, very clean, comfortable. Really nice massage for great price. Elevator.

Great location to bike and walk. Staff was exceptionally helpful especially with my Lactose intolerance. Would come back her again!

Love the peace and calm of this place right in nature. Free parking and close drive to Utrecht. A perfect getaway.
