Lodgings in Volterra

Great location, great services, very good breakfast, very kind people, very nice room/hotel. They informed us that the hotel is in the old town, therefore they do not have private parking. However, they send us all details related to the parking places near the location (there is free parking near the hotel, but you have to take into account that you have to climb about 100 stairs to the hotel.).

Villa Nencini was very clean and they allowed for early check in without any issues or penalty. Overall a great stay.

The Moretti family is very kind and always helpful - it’s the small details they care about. The location of the hotel with its terrace and roof garden in the center of Volterra is perfect. I can strictly recommend a stay in this lovely place.

The people that run this place were so nice and the meals were amazing. It was such a beautiful property and a nice place to stay.

The feeling of and « old castle ». Very good territory. Welcoming host. Oil production owned by the hosts which is nearby and you can buy amazing local staff.

We liked this location. It was a farm stay out in the country, on a farm that made pecorino cheese from sheep on the farm. There was a nice main building. There was a restaurant that was excellent. We had a tour of the cheese making facilities. It was far enough out in the country to be quiet, but within less than 10 km of Volterra. Getting out in the tuscan countryside was easy, but note that the roads are very twisty, so it can take longer to get places. We were given very good instructions on how to find it. They also have a pool, which we did not use, as the weather was still too cold.

The Hospitality was exceptional! I would recommend to everyone and look forward to returning some day!

One of our goals of staying in Volterra was visiting the amazing Etruscan Museum there. We have been in Volterra before, but missed the Museum due to lack of time.Villa Mascagni looked attractive to us because of good reviews of many customers, but when we saw it by our own eyes it exceeded our great expectations. Living in this property was like living in a small palazzo that is perfectly maintained. Rooms are spacious with very high ceilings decorated like in a museum. The location was most convenient and very close to the Etruscan Museum. At the same time it is outside of the old city walls and easily reachable from the main roads. The property offers an ample parking. We were met by the host and he showed us our apartment, explained all details and gave a brief orientation on how we can reach several most important for us places. We arrived a little earlier of the official check in time, but the host - Patrizio - was able to accommodate our schedule. Our special thanks for being so welcoming. The apartment was huge and exceptionally decorated. It included an amazing private terrace The kitchen was well equipped. Beds were quite comfortable. The apartment was very quiet. All in all, this place was remarkable as a base for exploring Volterra and its history.

The hotel is in the heart of one of Tuscany’s most beautiful and interesting city. I loved the contrast between the historic outdoors and the modern and super efficient indoor of the hotel. A very clean, comfortable and quiet hotel.

Alessandro is a great host, and the facility is charming in the center of the historical city. Breakfast is fantastic with many homemade goods! When I’ll go back to Volterra I’ll go back to Il Giardino Segrero

The farmhouse was very nice and the apartment had everything we needed. The whole family was so friendly to us and they even had nice things for breakfast for us. We enjoyed it a lot and would like to visit again soon!
