excellent value. everything was as seen, comfy beds, accessible electrical outlets everywhere, good reading lamps easy to turn off from bed, easy to access highway and local towns, walkable coffee and food, etc. heat and AC easy and responsive, I loved the fact that there was clean flooring instead of skanky carpeting!

Cozy little place. Convenient to get to. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was functional. Location is conveniently near the bus stops so easy alternatives to getting around town without having to drive. Management was friendly during check in/out. Fridge/freezer is a bit of an old style but works well enough. Kept drinks cool, but did pool with condensation around the drinks (didn't leak from the fridge at least) Good stay for what you pay.

    I got a great discount I wasn't expecting. Yay! The staff is wonderful. My priority is cleanliness, which is a 10. The bed was comfortable. The location is ideal for me and there is free parking.

    This old motel is renovated and adequate for travelers on a budget. Nice location and comfy beds. I have stayed here three times in the past. I'd do it again.

    Wonderful host! She personally called our room to make sure the accommodations met our needs. I don’t recall any motel or hotel ever showing that level of care towards guests. The building is older because everything in Berkeley is older BUT the furnishings, the bathroom, the bed, the outlets for all the digital gadgets people have, are all modern and comfortable. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit. A bonus is the walking distance to local eateries and the North Berkeley BART station. No car needed to get over to San Fran.

    I feel very safe staying at the Marina Inn. They have a private parking lot in front of the motel with an entranceway for the cars to come in so it’s cut off from University Avenue. Also, there’s a very good Mexican restaurant right down from the motel on the corner of University and Eighth Street. It is a very short walk and I find the area safe for a single woman. The location is great to get on the freeway or go up to Berkeley. And the staff is wonderful and very accommodating.
