What we liked the most was securing the hotel lobby entry doors at night, requiring you to have your room key card to enter. This made us feel safe.
However, on departure day I forgot my new black jacket in the room either hanging in the closet or left on the bed. It was purchased in Seattle, during the first part of our trip Nov 1 - 15, because the weather was sooo cold. Upon reaching home I called the hotel while unpacking and discovered it missing. I spoke to the Manager of the Front Office who informed me he will check with the Housekeepers that serviced our room and would call me back. As of today Dec. 12, 2022 Matt has not called back. No one answers when I called the hotel (510-849-1121) several times since checking out. This is very disappointing. I hope someone looks into this and provides an update to me.

Very large sized bathroom. I enjoyed the bathroom very much!
Very large sized bathroom. I enjoyed the bathroom very much! My booking said breakfast included. There was none. Not just this motel/hotel, many are renovating, and quiet enjoyment is not good. But did get some rest around 7 pm. The person above me was a heavy walker/ stomper. Even still, I would choose to come back again, because of the size of the bathroom.

Beautiful city with dirty streets.
Beautiful city with dirty streets. Compared to Boston or Cambridge, the city is clearly not doing enough to address unhoused people, especially those suffering mental illness. Their presence is apparent on sidewalks throughout the city. So too is trash, discarded papers, garbage and generally disorder that could at least be ameliorated with decent temporary housing, daily expanded sidewalk cleaning and leasing of dozens of boarded up businesses (even temporarily to artists, etc).

Enjoyed our stay in Berkeley.
Enjoyed our stay in Berkeley. Went there for our son's graduation and had a few days to walk around. We visited the campus, my husband and son went running and we had a nice dinner at Chez Panisse Bistrot (had to make the reservation THE day they opened up the reservations on-line) to celebrate. Lots of food options near the hotel, getting around Berkeley is easy. It was fun seeing the graduates.

I loved Berkeley and it’s beautiful greenery and views.
I loved Berkeley and it’s beautiful greenery and views. The food options are endless and the casual shopping is so much fun. There is so much to see in the town and on Cal campus. The surrounding areas offer a variety of activities and vistas.
It was right in what i would call the arts district if Berkley, close to music venues, the university, amazing book shops, amazing food. The hotel was really nice, and the bed fixed my sore back from the 17 hours of flying from Australia. Will definitely be back.
The staff at this hotel is exceptional- Rosie went out of her way to make sure our stay was comfortable and all inquiries were met with politeness and helpfulness. Joey was great two- great help with our cars as we came and went- even late at night.
Location was convenient but this hotel needs mechanical attention. Electrical plug ins were questionable. Heat/AC unit nonfuntional and had to move rooms for a working unit. Breakfast was basic but enough selections.
Clean, cozy and nicely designed
Great location - really close to Berkeley university and downtown, yet it was nice and quiet at night as we had a back room
Parking is a big plus
Great staff
Clean!!
The room had a small fridge, which came in handy during the holidays. The location was ideal. Restaurants and cafes were in walking distance from the hotel.
