Beautiful quite street location in central Carlisle, a lovely property that has been nicely fitted and boasts a tonne of space whilst still feeling cozy and private, a perfect base for solos or couples exploring the city of Carlisle. Host Joe was also very friendly and approachable. Also I greatly appreciated the relaxed 2pm check in and 11am check out times, adding extra value to my stay.

20-30 minute drive from the Lake District and close to Scotland. We are so Glad that we Booked their place. They are a Warm and lovely Couple that made us feel so welcomed. Their place is Spacious, well decorated, comfortable, cosy, clean and private, with private entrance and parking as well. The White House is well located in a small village, right in front of a lovely chapel. We took their recommendation to eat at a place nearby (3 - 5 min drive) called 'Treat Point' and we had a delicious dinner meal made by a lovely and friendly owner. We had a beautiful stay, highly recommend The White House and would stay again.

    Lots of space, good facilities and near city centre. Good communication with the owner. Parking nearby , down Cecil street, drive past first car park on the right and drive down cobbled street and into the carpark there, it's much cheaper. Loved the little extras, thank you.

    The room didn't have a view at all, it looked onto a roof but it was very comfortable to stay here. The bed was very comfy and the facilities were great. The breakfast was superb. The bacon and sausages were sourced locally and were delicious. This hotel is right in the centre of town and has it's own car park with free parking. The location is lively but we didn't get disturbed at all by noise. The hotel is old and the rooms are getting renovated.

    Victorian decor: I felt that the owner had spent a lot of time and effort, plus money, in choosing an unusual theme, that was fitting for a large Victorian house. The parking was good too, in an area wher parking could have been a problem. First of all, I parked in the swimming pool / leisure centre car park. After I had registered, I used the on-street parking permit I had been given. Breakfast: Breakfast like parking, is often an expensive extra. Overall, it added up to very good value for money. Location: very central.

    Very central location and appears to be at the ‘party-central’ end of the town. But it didn’t bother me as the room was quiet enough with good ventilation. The room was clean and comfortable. And the staff are friendly and helpful. Free parking is a great bonus of this hotel - make sure you don’t pay at the machine at the car park but register your car at check in.
