ust returned from one week at Elia Sea Suites. What can I say - it was just amazing and we really didn’t want to leave. Everything was absolutely perfect. Every single staff member was so friendly and they couldn’t do enough for us. Maria, Katrina, Phillipe, Eleni, and all the cleaning staff. There are 20 rooms and we booked a room with an outdoor hot tub which made watching the amazing sunsets perfect. Breakfast was beautiful and very relaxing. The pool area was also amazing and very quiet and relaxing. The location of the hotel is perfect too. Just a couple of minutes to the beach and restaurants to the right of the hotel and about a 10 minute walk to the old town and harbour to the left. The old harbour has a very wide choice of restaurants and is great for exploring with lots of quirky shops in side streets off Main Street. Something new to find everywhere!! I would 100% recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return soon :)

I have been coming to this hotel for over 10 years and it always feels like home right away when you arrive. The pools, rooms, restaurants and the private beach are amazing and never get old. Also, the hotel has a nice mix of visitors from young couples to families, single travelers and elderly couples. It’s also very relaxing and easy going for a 5 star resort. it’s always hard to leave this property at the end of your stay but I know I will eventually come back again. I travel a lot and I have seen many 5 star resorts but there is something about this property that always pulls me back, most likely the atmosphere and the surrounding area.

We had a really nice holiday! Whole hotel was very clean, it is situated in nice Beach area with a little creak. It was really nice to have a meal and watch duks in the river. Our room cleaning crew was very nice and helpful and spécial thank to Penelope at the front desk. She can do miracles. She arranged for us late check out, our flight was at the night and with two small kids, it was so useful. Food was great, kids enjoyed little pancakes every morning and they were over the moon with ice cream bar.

The staff are very kind, friendly and helpful. You can stay after your check-out. Breakfast was varied (bacon, mushroom, two kinds of egg, baked goods, cheeses, fruits, freshmade orange juice, etc). Our room was perfect for us. The hotel is closed to the 'Stadium' bus station and to the small Koum Kapi Beach. On Saturdays the local market is next to the hotel as well, worth to visit!

It's a really lovely, quaint and visually appealing place...

It's a really lovely, quaint and visually appealing place with plenty of shops, cafes and food options. We found everything we needed for our month long stay. The beaches were quite small, but lovely, and the museums were interesting to visit. We decided not to drive there, as the roads are narrow in many places, but the bus station is right in the heart of the town if needed.

For those who want a quiet get-away and yet close shopping, Kissamos is hard to beat. Close to the port for Balos-Gramvousa excursions and secluded for a wonderful relaxed time with your loved one. Gramvousa Restaurant is a must, a short drive to a memorable dining experience. Loved snorkeling and fish sightings around rocky areas. Pictures cannot capture the panoramic breath-taking setting.

From Souda, the bus is ~10 minutes to Chania for 1.60€ only.

From Souda, the bus is ~10 minutes to Chania for 1.60€ only. No need for rental car nor searching for parking -- just take bus. Use rental car for pleasure scenic routes into mountains especially Milo's Restaurant. But only during sunlight, not at night!! The trip there is well worthwhile for the food & service, the trip itself is adventurous, scenic & breathtaking because of height.

There are two places I highly recommend for eating.

There are two places I highly recommend for eating. One is a restaurant called Arodou Restaurant, and the other is Znkag Bakery & Pastry (sorry, I’m not sure how to spell it in Greek). Both are very close to Anton’s Home.

Good beach with beds and shades.

Good beach with beds and shades. Lovely clear water, great place to swim. Nice tavernas. Great backdrop of the white mountains and the castle when you are in the water. Not too many people in October but can imagine it would be crowded in high season. Surrounding area is dry rocky and barren. Come for the beach and Imbros gorge but not for a scenic walk.

In this village truly feel like stepping back in time. People were friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more delightful. It’s a place where time seems to slow down, allowing you to appreciate the simple pleasures and sea is fantastic. I highly recommend a visit if you ever get the chance!

Lovely little village with very friendly people working in the shops and restaurants. Petra is an amazing family-run restaurant with delicious local specialities run by extremely kind people. We went there on this first night and didn't look elsewhere, kept going back and tried as many Greek specialities as we could.

It's a lovely resort. Visited many times but never stayed before. Plenty of shops and bars but not enough tavernas! A lot of hotels have been built over the past few years ensuring more tourists but it was difficult finding a table in a taverna on an evening and we visited in September so I would say it's impossible in the height of the season. If you like the beach then Kalivaki Beach is a must for you. All sand and no pebbles ! The surrounding area is very scenic & can recommend going on one of the train rides through the local villages. An excellent day out!

Excellent for half-day walks into small gorges, but also...

Excellent for half-day walks into small gorges, but also plenty of taverna choice (even in April). Full day trip to Agia Roumeli on boat allows for 7 hours in that inaccessible village at end of Samaria Gorge (very sleepy in April, before the gorge opens!) and a coastal walk to an isolated but open Saint Paul taverna by a 10th century church on the beach!!
