    Sette Venti, Chania Town

Description Attractively set in the heart of Chania Town, Sette Venti provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi.

"This is a beautiful new hotel but it's in a renovated, older building that has a lot of character and the staff at the hotel is incredibly kind and friendly. The rooms are beautiful and very light (when I looked at photos of other hotels in Chania, the rooms seemed to be rather dark). They are also very big. I stayed in the standard sized room and I almost would describe it as being more of a suite. There is a beautiful courtyard where it is lovely to sit, have tea and talk with the other guests (there are only five rooms in the hotel, so it is easy to meet the other people staying in it). The roof also has a terrace and a wonderful view. Don't let it scare you away that the hotel doesn't offer breakfast on the premises! They make up for it in a million other ways (in addition to having a deal with a nearby restaurant on the port). They gave me a bottle of wine, as well as tapenade and crackers when I checked in. Each room has a mini-fridge and they stock it every day with complimentary bottled water, soft drinks, and sparkling water. There are also a coffee maker and water boiler for tea in the room, along with complimentary tea, coffee and cookies. I loved the location. It is inside the old city, but not right on the port, which means that it is very quiet. There are two excellent restaurants right around the corner (Portes and Strata). The hotel is a 20 minute walk from Nea Chora beach (depending on how fast you walk) and a five minute walk from a pick-up point for daily excursions to other parts of Crete (I went to Elafonisi and Samaria Gorge). A note, if you are disabled or have mobility issues, while the hotel is in the old city, which isn't an easy place to navigate in a wheelchair, one doesn't need to descend any steps to reach it and they have a special disability access room on the ground floor with an extra large bathroom and shower (they let me look inside it)."
