Abundant in natural beauty and local taverns, this village is known for its rich history as Cretan revolutionaries, politicians and battlegrounds claim roots here.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and took great care of us. The resort is super clean, and our suite was just beautiful and spacious with 2 full baths and great a/c. The food was wonderful in both the main dining area and the resort restaurants. I am an American fluent in Greek so I connected with the staff. They are really nice people. We were there in late July so I don't know if the resort was at full capacity or not, but there were plenty of chairs available on the beach, plenty of room on the pool decks and in the pools. The water park at the back of the resort was so much fun, too. If you don't want to walk to the beach (which seems far, but it's really not) you can go via golf cart. The staff is there to ensure you have and enjoyable stay, and we certainly did. Τα περασαμε πολη καλα, Happy!!
Avra Imperial Hotel provided us with an exceptional service ranging from reception to housekeeping service, I received a fabulous treatment by the hotel staff they provided me with a meal at midnight due to arriving late. Adding to that they perfectly communicated via email, fast and useful responses that provided all of the necessary information regarding the shuttle service that was provided. The restaurants at the hotel were superb offering international and local cuisines that were so tasty, moreover the pool restaurant provided delicious drinks and spirits that just set the mood for the overall atmosphere of the pool, and during the week there were several activities varying from zumba classes and relaxing piano and jazz performances. Thank you for making our stay comfortable and unique !!!
We had a great stay at Royal Sun! The location is very convenient – close enough to Chania but away from the busy streets, which made it peaceful and relaxing.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially the night shift receptionist, who was always welcoming and attentive.
Breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of options, and the restaurant has an incredible panoramic view over Chania – truly a highlight!
The room was comfortable and clean, and one of the best features was the free shuttle service to the city center, which saved us the stress of looking for parking.
We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Chania.
We loved everything. The food is excellent, delicious, fresh, and offers a wide variety of choices. The Greek salad and Greek yogurt were exceptional.

This is our second time visiting Kiani Beach and the first time with our young child. It did not disappoint. The facilities are great and looked after very well. The whole place is very clean. The restaurants offer good choices for all tastes. The staff look after you very well. The VIP upgrade is worth it if you plan on drinking cocktails (3 a day covers the cost) or using the spa or will be a heavy user of the Wi-Fi.

We had such a relaxing week here, everything was perfect. Staff were amazing, the rooms were comfortable and stylish and the facilities amazing. The private beach and pool were great and I loved the morning pilates classes. Breakfast was also wonderful. Our toddler had the time of her life, we can’t wait to come back.
Close to Chania bus station (3 min), clean and comfortable room, and top floor has a lovely rooftop terrace. Facilities are not new; but neatly maintained. Cleaner staff are professional, and hotel staff are well-trained. This hotel is not luxsualy one; but you will feel a Greek heartfelt and simple atomosphere.
The hotel and its surroundings are very beautiful. The young staff is kind and polite. The reception staff is helpful and kind. The pool and the private beach are very good and useful with small children. We always found something delicious among the food.

Whether if you're a history buff or looking for an instagram-able location for your next selfie, the Old Town and adjacent Venetian Harbour are fascinating to walk around. The area is full of great photo opportunities around every corner, as well as cool little shops and restaurants scattered throughout.
The more modern shopping precinct of Chania is in the centre with everything you may need during your visit.
Public transport is cheap and reliable although car hire shops abound if you prefer to drive yourself. There are tour companies available if you want to go sight-seeing and let someone else do the driving.
Make sure you visit the Archaeological Museum during your stay to learn the history of human habitation on Crete.
Chania is a great spot to base yourself for travel in the north-west region of Crete. There are so many places to visit that are within a day's drive from Chania. Chania is a must-do location to visit when you come to Crete.

Kissamos offered us a wonderful mix of relaxation and local charm. The nightlife was a pleasant surprise, with cozy bars and lively tavernas where we enjoyed delicious food and drinks. Evening walks through the town square and the nearby streets filled with local shops and traditional products were some of the highlights of our stay. It's a great place for couples looking for a laid-back yet authentic Cretan experience.

We have stayed in Agia Marina five or six times over the years and it was the first place we visited in Crete over twenty years ago. Although we like to think that we do not return to places and have travelled the world, we have been to Crete at least fourteen times and have gravitated towards Agia Marina.
Now in our late 70's, we are comfortable in the knowledge that it is a safe place to holiday, with a good range of accommodation, a predictable climate for the most part, some good restaurants and shops and the people are welcoming and friendly.
It is also a short bus ride or taxi (about 8 miles) from Chania, for a change of scenery, a fantastic Venetian harbour and a good range of shops and restaurants.

We went during school holidays so it was pretty busy but the tourist high street was quiet during the day while everyone was on the beach. The food was excellent. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. The beach bars were also good. The Cretans were very friendly and helpful. Crete has plenty of interesting sites to visit both inland and on the coast. We would happily return.

All beaches were clean and tidy. Enjoyed by the locals, often staying past sundown. Lots of tavernas to enjoy. Short walk to 2 supermarkets if needed, well stocked. Bought cheap loungers from supermarket, which saved a huge amount on sunbeds, as we were there for three weeks!

It's a small town with some restaurants which are really good.
It is more of a tourist village than a local village. However, the food is good, there are supermarkets and souvenir boutique.
Additionally, there are some activities to do, and there is a beach.
We went there to take our breakfast and sometimes our dinner, but we were more often in other places.

The relaxed atmosphere and the lovely apartment at Falassarna beach studio apartments. Excellent breakfast served in the courtyard overlooking the beach.
The apartment was spotlessly clean with stunning views from the balcony. Plenty of tavernas nearby serving great food. A lovely beach within walking distance and Big beach a few mins drive away. We recommend having a car. Also walk up to Ancient Falassarna historical site. It is a 20 min walk and well worth it

Massive thing i wish i knew before is the bus system is the cheapest form of travel to and from the Chania airport and is fairly quick and regular, prices starting from 2.50 euros .Stalos was a perfect destination for all age groups , clean , all the bars and restaurants are family/locally owned and all the people are freindly and polite .
The beach is clean and easily accessible .
