For those reading this, your research should make you aware...
For those reading this, your research should make you aware of the following. Bali is small and cramped with narrow roads and heavy traffic which moves at a snail's pace. If you are comfortable on a scooter, you can rent one. We opted to sit the traffic out by hiring a car and driver. You can negotiate a little with the drivers and everyone (ie. hotel staff) knows someone with an airconditioned vehicle who you can hire directly. In my humble opinion, Kuta is the better bet. Seminyak and Nusa Dua are too pricey for what is still Bali. Ubud is much too far from the ocean so ensure you are ready for a 30-45 min drive to get to the beach. If you are willing to walk a little, you can find everything you need in Kuta. Decent food and other shopping. Currency exchange places. An upmarket mall (with globally recognised brands) and a local mall with local brands. Kuta also has most of the fast-food franchises we would recognise (all the burger, chicken, pizza, and coffee places).Guest review byYeoshaanSouth Africa - 8.0

Much more chill than kuta. Beaches busy but much quieter. Lots of options for eating out Plenty of cute bars really close to the beach clubs. Traffic is horrendous - leave plenty of time to get anywhereGuest review byMarcUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Seminyak made a very pleasant impression.
Seminyak made a very pleasant impression. It's not far from the airport — about 25 minutes. The people here are friendly and welcoming, always ready to help. The atmosphere is calm and cozy, and you can feel the hospitality.Guest review bySharaKazakhstan - 10.0

Uluwatu is awesome but very busy now compared to other years. We loved the location of our villa, very central yet so quiet for how busy it is in Padang Padang. Easy to get around. Villa was beautiful we didn't want to leave! Could have done with a tv for quiet night in that's about it. The ladies at the office are lovely but quite pushy with payments when you book things and communication sometimes a bit mixed up. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay :)Guest review byJennaNew Zealand - 10.0

Sanur is a lovely area for families, singles and retirees alike. There are some great cafes, restaurants and bars along Jalan Danau Tamblingan (the main road through Sanur). The road is long so if walking is not your thing you can always pick up a Bluebird taxi (on meter). It's also easy walking distance to Karang Beach from the main road, where you'll find more bars and eating places along the beach. You can also hire bicycles at Karang Beach to ride along the footpath. There's the new ICON Shopping Mall (a must visit if you've never been there). For eating, I recommend Mona Lisa, Ribs, Wicked Parrot, Republique, The Pantry, Akaya Cafe, The Village, Smorgas.Guest review byKarenAustralia - 8.0

Nusa Penida is overly crowded by Tourist especially the Kelingking Beach. The roads going to tourist attractions are like off roads. The travel from Sanur to Nusa Penida was scary for me because of the big waves.Guest review byGenalynUnited States - 10.0

Nusa Lembongan was a great mix of relaxation but also had plenty to do. We hired scooters and went right around the island as well as over to Nusa Cenigan. There are no real cars, so it's not as hectic as most of Bali. There are some gorgeous beaches. It's obviously a well known surf spot, but lots of other swimming opportunities if you're not into surfing. Amazing snorkeling with manta rays and spectacular ocean cliff scenery. There was a great selection of restaurants and beach bars, so there's lots of food options to choose from all over Lembongan and plenty of amazing cocktail sunset spots. We loved it and will be back!Guest review byEmmaAustralia - 10.0
My first time in travelling to Bali and I was nervous.
My first time in travelling to Bali and I was nervous. I couldn't have been more surprised. Legian is a terrific spot. I felt safe and had fun the whole 10 days that I was there. Our hotel arranged transport when I asked and we also used the Bluebird Taxi App, which is terrrific. I didn't find the beach swimmable but there were many surfers. Restaurants and bars lined the streets, as did shops of all descriptions. So much fun shopping. Taxi rides to visit interesting sites are cheap, as are full day private tours. Our rooftop pool was awesome and we loved spending lots of time there. I can't wait to return.Guest review byktdyrAustralia - 4.0
Basically just a resort neighborhood for people to spend...
Basically just a resort neighborhood for people to spend their miles and points at all the usual hotel chains. The neighborhood is almost all resort pricing unless you go and mingle in the slum-like conditions that the local construction workers are living in. Almost all of the activities and attractions outside of the resorts are very suspicious, often feeling like tourist trap scams. I would only stay here again if someone were inviting me to some convention hosted here and they were putting me up in the resort hotel.Guest review byKoJapan
