I had been warned about Naples.
I had been warned about Naples. It was very dirty with litter everywhere. Luckily our hotel was on the promenade in front of the castle so very touristy & clean in this area. The shopping areas were ok too, I loved the cobble streets. We used naples as a centre to visit Amalfi & Pompeii. 2 or 3 nights is more than enough to stay. We ate in restaurants along the promenade, couldn't fault the food. A little more expensive so we tried a restaurant a few streets in & again, beautiful food & a little cheaper.Guest review byLauraIreland - 8.0

This is just a wonderful place.
This is just a wonderful place. We were there in August which should be high season but it wasn't too crowded. You of course have to have some tourism so that restaurants and shopping will thrive and for us this is just the perfect balance. Not too many people "in your way" but still enough to have a variety of restaurants, shops and all sorts of services. We will 100% be returning to Ischia... most likely more than once and more than twice.Guest review byGunnar GeirIceland - 10.0
Lovely little town with very good restaurants.
Lovely little town with very good restaurants. Everyone seems to be nice and friendly in this place. We were on foot and enjoyed walking everywhere. Easy to take the Ferry to go to discover Amalfi and Ravello. We felt safe everywhere and many people speak English. A perfect place to relax and take in the culture with little streets everywhere. One never knows where he is going to end up! On foot walking along the seashore is a real pleasure! Easy to get to Salerno from Rome by train.Guest review byMicheleCanada - 10.0

Capri is great to explore via taxi, get up early and head up to Ana Capri, less traffic more intimate area. The chair lift is a must to the top of the mountain, and lunch up top of the mountain is amazing. Capri is nice in the evenings to walk around and shop with plenty of places to get cocktails, and explore.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Amalfi is a small and charming town with beautiful architecture and a lovely atmosphere. However, since it’s the central town of the entire Amalfi Coast, it tends to get very crowded — which unfortunately takes away some of its charm. That said, it’s still worth a visit, especially to admire its history and beauty. But I highly recommend exploring the nearby towns as well — like Positano, Atrani, Maiori, Minori, and others — each of them has its own unique character and is often much more peaceful and authentic.Guest review byLiza ManijaLatvia - 10.0

I have an interest in ancient Roman history (from reading the novel by Robert Harris) and on that basis I ended up spending two days at the site (not one as originally planned). I think even spending a full day there 9am-7pm would exhaust all but the most dedicated traveller, given the heat in peak Summer (when I travelled). Also, bring some decent footwear: the narrow paved areas on each side of the street mean you have to keep jumping off to walk along the road itself which has very irregular stones which are a trip hazard. Gets busy, lots of tour buses. I didn't go as part of an organised tour, but what I did get and found useful was the audio tour guide thing that you can purchase from the visitor centre office before you go in. This provides basic information on each building once you key in the number. There is water available on site that you can use to fill up a bottle. Cafe on site also but was so busy, I didn't even think of joining the queue. I paid the extra 6 Euro for the visit to the villas, outside the main site and thought it was worth it. In fact I couldn't believe that the building I was walking through was over 2000 years old, it looked from the outside like 50 years at the most.Guest review bygraham001United Kingdom - 10.0
Great views, scenery and nature.
Great views, scenery and nature. A bit tiring due to the stairs. Your hotel's location is important, mine was very well located. Not far from the beaches but still with a very nice view. I recommend the restaurant Donna Rosa, very nice food and elegant place for dinners.Guest review byGAMZEGÜLTurkey - 8.0
Caserta is a pleasant ordinary town.
Caserta is a pleasant ordinary town. The Royal Palce is jaw dropping and it is a 8E return train ride from Naples. With a car, there are many fantastic Roman sites and a spectacular coastline within 30k. The town has quite a number of excellent Pizza restaurants, all competitively priced.Guest review bypaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The city is medium and what I don't like but this looks to be Italian style, they close the shops/stores to early ( about 20:30 ) ; for me a place on the sea cost acting like this is unusual !Guest review byPANTEA
