The city itself is beautiful for its historic architecture:...
The city itself is beautiful for its historic architecture: churches, theaters, museums, which makes Palermo a very charming and classic city. However, the city is very dirty and has a very strong smell that bothered us a lot. It is clear that there is no maintenance to keep it clean, especially during the summer holidays when the city welcome many tourists. There is a noticeable neglect in this regard, and this is very sad for such a beautiful and historic city.Guest review byErisonBrazil - 8.0

We were in the area of Taormina for three days and could have used more time- because there are so many other places to visit as side trips as well. Lovely town - crowded in the evenings but we still were able to find availability at good restaurants. Besides the high end shopping there were some lovely boutiques as well. Wonderful bakeries and cafes. Cable car down to the beach. Many hotels have walking paths to town , but may have to walk in road a bit for some of them.Guest review bySarah - 8.0
We have been before.
We have been before. Sadly, Cefalu is becoming very busy now. We've been many times previously and have noticed the increase in tourism. We can't complain. We're tourists ourselves. Lovely shops and restaurants, and lots of history. Still a great place to visit.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I love both beaches and lively city centers at the same time and Trapani can offer that. A perfect cable car trip directly from Trapani to historic Erice. A beautiful sunset and a view of the illuminated Trapani. Interesting places in the vicinity: Segesta and Selinunte archeological parks, the very unusual Nuova Gibellina (plus Cretto di Buri) and bustling Palermo with majestic monuments. There are plenty of great restaurants in Trapani. I can't miss the Meno Tredici gelateria in the harbor and the great arancini at Al Pollero da Roberto.Guest review byMiroslavCzech Republic - 6.0
My hosts were great.
My hosts were great. When returning from Salle del Turchi, some man wasn’t paying attention and opened his car door as I was passing and I was going slow as there was traffic, and the rental is scratched significantly and I will most likely have to pay for repairs. People drive way too fast. It’s an ok place to visit. If I had planned exactly what to do, besides the Temple ruins, it would have been better.Guest review byRobbinUnited States - 10.0

Lovely old town with wonderful beach and crystal clear water. Vast amount of restaurants to choose from but the more popular ones you need to book in advance. Our son's have allergies and most of the restaurants could not cater for them, but a big thank you to La Chimera restaurant who did. If you plan to visit the nature reserve or walk along the coast make sure to have decent walking footwear as it is very uneven and rocky.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Giardini Naxos is a bus ride away from Taormina.
Giardini Naxos is a bus ride away from Taormina. We enjoyed this quiet town, the restaurants were good, especially Trattoria da Lino. The beaches are stunning, even though they mostly have little stones, the water was clean and refreshing!Guest review byGillianGermany - 10.0

You can rent bikes, electric ones if it's too hot. They are available at several locations. The prices are reasonable and you can travel the entire island. The water is clean and it is worth stopping here for a day.Guest review byVesnaSlovenia
