Summer of course is not the best choice due to the crowds, though once you leave the San Marco area the crowds are less and very manageable. We had always read that the canals smelled bad in the summer, but this was not the case. We did two special tours of the Doge's Palace which were really interesting and not crowded. 1 hour kayak tour was also interesting and fun. Getting around Venice is very easy but be prepared for lots of walking and steps on the many, many little bridges. The vaporetto (water bus) are easy but not as cheap as we expected (previous visits). Water taxis are expensive.Guest review byHughAustralia - 10.0

Beautiful City full of historic buildings, beautiful churches and monuments, a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants. Verona is also a perfect base for visiting nearby Lake Garda, all of which make it a perfect city break destination and less than 2 hours flight from London!Guest review byRICHARDUnited Kingdom - 6.0

This is a place for people who want to chill on the beach for the entire duration of their holiday. There is barely anything else to do. The beach is an endless forest of sunbeds and parasols with restaurants nearby.Guest review bySzabolcsHungary - 10.0

Mestre was a pleasant surprise at the end of our short tour of Italy. We spent 4 nights in Venice, 4 nights in Bologna, and 4 nights in Florence, and one last night in Mestre before flying out. The town had a working class charm that was refreshing. My only complaint would be that mosquitos were in our room. No sir. Not good.Guest review byRobertUnited States - 8.0

Bibione has a sandy shallow beach perfect for families with small kids. Pay a bit extra to get an umbrella on row 1 or 2. Then you can easily monitor your kids while they are playing on the beach. Usually warmer sea temperature than the Mediterranean side. It is a multitude of restaurants with quite a variety on the menu. Very easy to get around with car, bicycle or by footGuest review byAnders HauglandGermany - 10.0
Caorle is a beautiful historic town that truly surprised us.
Caorle is a beautiful historic town that truly surprised us. It offers a rich atmosphere in the evenings, with plenty of entertainment, charming streets, and great places to eat or just enjoy a walk. The beaches are wide and spacious, allowing people to spread out comfortably — even during peak season, it never felt overcrowded. A perfect destination for families and anyone looking for a mix of relaxation and vibrant local culture.Guest review byJaroslavCzech Republic - 10.0

Even though its a small town it is really nice, 2 days in enough (one day we spent in Padova and one day we went to Venice). We enjoyed the river walk and a lot of nice restaurants like the Pastasuta restaurant that right at the Padova market.Guest review byTina KCroatia - 6.0

I have the impression that the town has lost so many of its services - supermarkets, fruit and veg shops, delis - and the permanent citizens of Peschiera have put their efforts into restaurants, bars and shops. It is a very pretty town but I feel it is not a real town but a tourist town. In high season the ferries are frequent to visit towns around the lake. The bus service in the area functions but is crowded due to the huge number of tourists.Guest review bySuzanneCanada - 8.0

Malcesine is a great little village and Hotel Malcesine had some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Be aware that the gondolier to Monte Baldo is incredibly inefficient and you can spend over an hour waiting to get onto the gondolier and even more getting back Having said that I would absolutely recommend going up Baldo for the breathtaking views. But take a book!Guest review bycliveAustralia - 10.0
