- From $145.34 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 321 reviewsWe were so glad to have found Okinawa Grand Mer Resort — a true sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of Naha, especially during the busy Golden Week. Nestled in a quieter part of the island, this hotel offered us a perfect mix of comfort, convenience, and nostalgic charm. The property feels like it was built during a time when hotels were made to last — solid, classic, and beautifully maintained. Stepping inside felt like boarding a luxurious cruise ship, complete with elegant interiors and warm hospitality. One of the highlights was our room’s balcony view — absolutely stunning — and the array of amenities, many of which were complimentary, added so much value to our stay. A car rental is highly recommended to explore the area, and thankfully, the hotel makes it incredibly easy. We booked directly with them for just ¥8,500 per night, which was already a steal compared to outside rental services — plus we were able to return the car at midnight, which was super convenient. Pro tip: Coordinate your flights with the hotel’s shuttle schedule to save yourself an ¥8,000 taxi fare. From Naha Airport: 10:30 / 13:30 / 17:00 From the hotel: 9:00 / 12:00 Highly recommend if you're looking for a peaceful, well-run escape with old-school charm and practical comforts.Guest review byDaphneUnited States
- From $195.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 297 reviewsThe staff were incredible! First, we thought we needed to cancel and they waved our fee no problem. Then we re-booked when we realized we could make it. The lady who worked there was possibly the kindest person we have ever met. She helped us arrange restaurants, taxis and anything else we needed. She played with our kids whenever she saw them. She came to say goodbye personally and gave the kids big hugs. We felt like we were family. The location is incredible. The beach they connected to was silent. We saw maybe one other person on it the whole time we were there! The kids loved swimming, snorkeling and collecting shells. The pool was great and open for long hours. We could also eat or enjoy a drink while they swam as it was connected to the restaurant. Breakfast was good, the kids loved it!Guest review byAngelaLatvia

Being the centre of the Ryukyu Kingdom and hot spot during the Battle of Okniawa, there's still much to explore on other attractions around aforementioned themes if you go all the length to do research before the trip. Those spot may be just round the corner in the city area (Sugar Loaf Hill), or a bus ride to step out of Naha CIty boundaryGuest review byricolee830104Hong Kong - 6.0
The island is very attractive.
The island is very attractive. Sadly there is virtually no commercial development. So find a cup of coffee is impossible and even lunch is a struggle. Everyone seem to be with tour groups. I Without jellyfish nets you cannot swim off the beaches. It could be fantastic but unless you are Japanese I would go elsewhere.Guest review byJohn LindsayUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A gorgeous spot with plenty of local restaurants to enjoy. Beaches on your doorstop and other attractions such as pottery village only a short drive away. I really made use of the hire car for trips out of Onna, but a few days could be enjoyed in the town by walking.Guest review byElizabethAustralia - 10.0

I only stayed in my hotel because it was raining but i definitely wish I stayed longer (I was only there for one full day— the other two I travelled to and from my hotel) but I really wish I booked a longer stay. It’s not as busy as Naha or other popular areas so for me it was quiet and peaceful. I wish I could have visited some local attractions such as the pineapple park but unfortunately it rained on the day I wanted to go and I didn’t really feel like doing that in the rain. But I’d recommend 2-3 full days here!Guest review byHoltonJapan - 10.0

Compared to Okinawa's main island which depending where you go could still feel a bit crowded, Miyako is the perfect Okinawa retreat and a unique experience. The various beaches won't deceive with emerald waters! There are also many diving spots to explore sea life.Guest review byCedricJapan - 6.0

We stayed three nights and that was enough for us. Beaches need more atmosphere, loungers, restaurants, shade etc. Also realised you need to hire a car cause America town and closes beaches got boring after three days.Guest review byAmberNew Zealand - 10.0

We visited quite a few places in the area including Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium which was really interesting and well worth the money. We spent time at Motobu Genki Village and Bise with the tropical dream center all located within Ocean Expo Park. Due to a lack of time after seeing lots of other attractions in the area we were unable to visit the northernmost beaches and forest walks that we had planned.Guest review byBrianNew Zealand - 10.0
I love this city.
I love this city. Unlike most cities I have been in, there is almost no trash to be found on the streets, anywhere! At no time did I ever feel unsafe, no matter where in the city I walked. The people are extremely polite and friendly. The food is absolutely amazing! I LOVE this place! You want the best places to eat, look for the small ones. You will not be disappointed with the food or prices!Guest review byGarrettUnited States - 8.0
Very beautiful scenery and nature.
Very beautiful scenery and nature. Beautiful beaches but not all are allowed for swimming so make sure to check beforehand. Places to visit are pretty far from each other so it'd be best to rent a car to get around. I would advise to stay in Itoman no longer than 3 days are things can be visited pretty quickly.Guest review byMarineTaiwan - 10.0

I have dear friends living in Yomitan, this was an added bonus. Castle Rock is a vintage decorated restaurant, that's fun to be in. There is a wonderful variety on the menu to satisfy all guests.Guest review byBetty
