- From $351.45 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 366 reviewsBeautiful hotel hidden between the mountains in the valley. The japanese rooms were big and comfortable, loved having access to very fresh water all the time. The staff were really attentive, friendly, helpful and kind. The hotel also offers a free night tour to the vine bridge, which I highly recommend. The outdoor onsen is breathtaking, you reach it by using a cable car(or climbing it yourself). Very well maintained and beautiful setup, and you can literally sit for hours looking at its beautiful real nature background. Outside of the onsen, there is a very old rest area with tea and water, and a sunken hearth (irori). The smell of its burning wood creates a very pleasant aroma. Highly recommend sitting on the tatami in the room while the sun shines through the windows so you experience shades of red you have never seen before. Dinner and breakfast use local ingredients, and everything you try is explained in great detail. Also, you get to hear the beautiful singing voice of the owner of the hotel while she sings you a traditional japanese song during the dinner time. Because the hotel is located in a remote valley and unless you have a car, it will be hard to get around. The buses pass scarcely and they are small and can be crowded. If you try to walk, you will always be walking on the road. You can rent assisted bicycles in the hotel, which makes it easier to get around. Oh, and you will probably see wild monkeys crossing the roads if you venture around.Guest review bySérgioNetherlands
- From $157.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 726 reviewsWe enjoyed our one-night stay a lot! Free parking, very close and walking distance to the Kotohiragu area. The room itself was very spacious for 2 people. The onsen was also very nice, there were multiple hot tubs (including jet/jacuzzi ones) indoors and outdoors, and they switch the onsen between male and female overnight. There's also restaurants within the hotel itself. The deco of the hotel along the main walkway and the reception was quite traditional and was nice to appreciate.Guest review bySher LynUnited States
- From $216.17 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 690 reviewsHotel is close to the theme park as it is the only hotel associated with the theme park. BUT the hotel and theme park is quite far from the train station. There is a free bus shuttle but runs infrequently. We ended up taking taxis to the facility . The hotel is huge and it had lots of things that could accommodate the large crowd: Pool and game rooms for children, large onsen baths, large self serve restaurant, and a big store for shopping.Guest review bySharonUnited States

His SIM card had a problem during his stay, and he needed to be helped by them. The problem was SIM card and a staff gave him a router, it was very helpful. Thank you so much for this generous help!!!Guest review byyukariTurkey
- From $179.46 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 386 reviewsThe night view from our room and from the outdoor bath was spectacular. We forgot two items at the hotel, and the staff looked diligently to find them and mail them to us. There were no non-smoking rooms to reserve, but the staff had made sure that there was no odor in our room. The shuttle service was exceptional.Guest review byPaigeJapan

Takamatsu is a regional town on Shikoku Island in Japan.
Takamatsu is a regional town on Shikoku Island in Japan. It is quite relaxed and has everything that you may look for in big cities. Shikoku Island is one of the main 4 Islands of Japan. It is good to reach by train, bus and even by airplane. It has an old history and boasts of many traditional handicrafts, regional specialties (such as udon noodles), etc. Always worth a visit - even if it is in the rainy season.Guest review byGalinski - 10.0

Matsuyama is a city with a lot to offer. From the stunning views from Matsuyama castle, to the history of Dogo Onsen. It has many hidden gems in the form of cafes, traditional craft and cultural experiences and is a good jumping off point to see the rest of Ehime/Shikoku.Guest review byKai1582Japan - 10.0

Perfect size city , all the mod cons without the mad cap rat race of Tokyo or Osaka. Excellent amount of restaurants and food outlets with a great food hall at the bottom of the main shopping area. Close to the ocean and mountains with out door pursuits like hiking and white water rafting a short train ride up the valley .Guest review bypaulAustralia - 10.0

Tokushima is a nice and vibrant city, that gets the most of its hype during the great Awa Odori Matsuri, held in mid August. If the temperatures are too hot for you, you can still see Awa Odori performances all year around. From Tokushima is also easy to reach Naruto, with its famous whirlpools.Guest review byGiorgio_EItaly - 10.0

Anan itself isn't a sightseeing spectacle - a quiet little town with all the normal amenities and such. However, its proximity to multiple important temples on the Shikoku 88 can't be overstated. You're near Temple 18-23, accessible through some combination of bus, train and walking, and that's super convenient. Even if you're not doing the whole pilgrimage, visiting Tairyuji on top of the mountain is super interesting, Yakuoji is beautiful and in one of many small seaside towns, and the whole experience can be a wonderful 3-4 day trip full of unique sights!Guest review byJ-MCanada - 10.0

Niihama was a perfect stop in our bicycle trip (perfect distances between two spots). Otherwise there is not much to do in the city unfortunately. But we can recommend a good place to eat udon, it is called うどん茶屋志 Japon, 〒792-0865 Ehime, Niihama, Sakuragicho, 3−36 道 Really huge bowl of udon, tasty and cheap !Guest review byPerrineFrance - 8.0
