Everything felt very luxurious, the staff were so genuine and warm, the on site restaurants I tried were fantastic (especially the chinese one), the pool is awesome and my personal highlight was the excellently equipped gym - everything is brand new. Maintaining a property like this, right by the ocean, is a big task - I hope the team will manage because I'd love to return one day.

We had an excellent stay in Taprobane House! The accommodation was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, always available to give us tips and make our stay easier. The location is also great, close to the main attractions and easy to get around. I recently stayed at this lovely property in Colombo, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The location couldn’t have been better—right in the heart of the city, making it super convenient to explore Colombo’s highlights. The room was spotless and beautifully designed with a soothing interior that felt calm and welcoming after a day of sightseeing. It struck the perfect balance between comfort and style. One of the best parts of our stay was the amazing dinner prepared by the chef. It was a true Sri Lankan home-cooked experience, bursting with authentic flavors. We enjoyed it on their terrace, overlooking a stunning view of Colombo, which made the evening unforgettable. Both the room and the meals were very reasonably priced, which made the whole experience feel like great value for money. Breakfast was hearty and filling—so satisfying that we didn’t even need lunch afterwards! If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located stay with delicious food and warm hospitality, this is the perfect spot to start your Sri Lanka adventure. Highly recommended!

    Kingsbury was just amazing! From the moment we arrived they have been so helpful and friendly. They gave us two of the best rooms overlooking the sea - perfect for the last two nights in Sri Lanka! Priyantha, the Chief of Concierge, was exceptionally helpful when he figured out what else we had to do on our lists. The beds in the rooms are so comfortable and the amenities in the bathrooms are complete! The rooms are also very very clean. Breakfast was excellent as well! Kingsbury has a cafe called Churros where we got the delicious snacks from (best would be to take the cafe home with us 🙃), coffee is also great! In the afternoon there is a pianist playing near the cafe - great for a relaxing afternoon. The hotel is also is well located - could not have been better!

    Dehiwela is very multi cultural and many differant varieties of restaurants and clothing along hill street which we stayed. people were very nice and polite to us and we felt safe even at late hours. also walking along hill street is quite a visual experience and we have done a few food crawls (like pub crawl but for food! ) along hill street. I would recommend dehiwela as a yet undiscovered gem in sri lanka with its own personality.

    Lovely town. Sri Lankan government buildings are located in this town. Citizenship and Immigration, Visa and NIC offices are here. There is also the Diyawanna Lake with board walks, bicycle routes, Parks and walk ways, perfect sceneries. Easy to get around town just by walking. About 30 minutes drive from Colombo Port City and One Galle Face Mall. About 45 minutes drive from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport.

    This 3-Level Apartment has 3 Bed Rooms and is located in a secure and convenient location in Rajagiriya, Sri Lanka. The Hosts were quite friendly and responsive to your needs. The accommodation is well-equipped for a long-term stay as well. All Appliances and Equipment were in working order. The Washing Machine helped me to travel with less clothes. The Accommodation had a separate entrance with access to the Electric Roller Door. The 3rd Level had the Laundry with access to a Roof Top terrace where clothes could be dried and having a 360 degree view of the surroundings incl. high rise buildings in Colombo.

    Colombo has many main tourist attractions but these could easily be seen within one day on a tuktuk. Another day to do the Pettah markets and some of the other plazas. Then you are done. Unless you have people to be with in Colombo two, maybe three, days should be enough. The real adventure of Sri Lanka lies out of Colombo in the central towns and cities and those towns along the coast. Tuktuks and taxis abound and can be inexpensive - all around Sri Lanka. HOWEVER always ask for a set price before you get in as to the cost of the trip you need. Tourists will always pay a little more than the locals but it can still be very cheap. A lot of shops and places do not accept credit card payments, so come with a wallet of cash. Supermarkets called Keells and Cargills for example abound are are a local prices. Their range of food and drinks is large. Rubbish can be a bit of an issue if you notice, but there are street cleaners who seem to collect the rubbish just thrown onto the road edge daily. The sun and heat can be harsh for foreigners so come prepared with big hats, sunburn cream, sunglasses and clothes that 'breathe'. The locals are generally very respectful, honest and helpful in answering any questions you may have. You will find lots of beggars as well on your travels. They appreciate any amount you can give to them.

    Great place to stay in Colombo area away from city centre but close enough for easy access to city amenities, shops and restaurants. Lovely colonial era building full of charm. The terrace and pool area is unique - right on the ocean. Nothing quite like it in the Colombo area.
