Out of all the hotels we stayed in Colombia, this was BY FAR the very best one!! It is so modern and has everything you need and more! The pool area is super nice, we loved the gym, and don’t even get me started on the breakfast buffet, it was absolutely fantastic :) The employees were also extremely nice and always very ready to help with anything. When I come back to Cartagena, I will definitely stay here!

Comfortable bed, strong aircon in the room, and nice shower. The buffet breakfast had plenty of choice, and the one dinner we had at the rooftop bar was good. The staff were always incredibly friendly and helpful :) Location is 5min walk to a large supermarket, and across the road from a beach (although it’s not a good one). Plenty of restaurants nearby, and about 20min drive to the old town (or 1hr in traffic during the evenings!)

I had an incredible experience at this hotel! I stayed in a Standard Double Room for four nights, and it was a truly enjoyable stay. Service & Staff 👏 From the Aquamarina restaurant staff to the front desk team, pool bar, and towel station attendants, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Their warm and welcoming attitude made my stay even better. Dining 🍽️ The hotel has four different restaurants, but I only dined at Aquamarina. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style, offering a wide variety of options. The average dinner cost was around 450-500 pesos. I was happy to see plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices, making it easy to find food as a vegetarian. Another huge plus was having a Starbucks inside the hotel, which was super convenient for me as a remote worker. Room & Cleanliness 🏨 My room was spotless, and the towels were fresh and clean. The hotel itself had a very clean atmosphere. The room was also well-equipped, featuring a large refrigerator, a microwave, and all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Location & Safety 📍 The location is perfect—situated at the corner of the Hotel Zone, it’s only a 5-minute walk to nightlife spots like Coco Bongo and other clubs. I felt very safe walking around, even at night. I enjoyed taking walks along the bike path—1-1.5 km towards La Isla and 2-2.5 km towards Playa Tortugas. The hotel also has a stunning beach, which is one of its biggest highlights! Entertainment & Activities 🎶 The hotel hosts nightly events, which added a fun touch to my stay. One night, a Mexican singer performed, and another night featured a dance show—both were fantastic! Final Thoughts 💯 Overall, my experience was excellent, and I truly believe the hotel is worth the price. I would definitely recommend it for its amazing location, great service, and stunning beach! Would love to visit again! 😊✨

Intimate setting, 4 beach bays with beautiful white sand clear sea, centrally located main pool, main dining area, pool deck, entertainment all in the same main area. Quiet pool didn't visit, but other quests enjoyed. . 3 bars, beautiful swing bar, main bar, and second beach bar. Disco, again, great fun, bar inside the disco as well. Staff was helpful, engaging, and interactive. Really create a beautiful welcoming environment. Room, I was in the court, room 603, loved the room. Newly updated, great ac unit, mini fridge, desk, chairs. I didnt get the opportunity to view the bungalow, however; I'm sure they're beautiful! Next time for sure. Definitely returning customer, planning on revisiting at Christmas! MAY2023

Everything was amazing. The beach view, the semi-private pool, and the staff were incredible and did everything to make us feel special. We were celebrating our friend’s bachelorette party, and we truly couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Breakfast was delicious. Special thanks to the receptionist and our mayordomo, José both were so kind and attentive. Also, Cochary, the waitress at the buffet, was incredibly sweet and welcoming.

Photos of the city show beautiful buildings and churches and views but the reality is quite different. The narrow streets are full of noisy motor bikes and scooters and the people who use them have no consideration for pedestrians and other users. They ignore traffic lights and it is quite dangerous to cross the roads. Then if you walk along the walls which are quite safe then look over the edge you will see loads of rubbish dumped and also in the sea. There are litter bins but they are mostly empty. It is a shame because it is quite an attractive city, or would be without the rubbish and the noise. But there are some good points. If you walk around the Parque del Centenario, which is free, you will see Sloths in the trees just above you and also monkeys. You can visit the Islas del Rosario by speedboat on a usual bumpy ride which takes about an hour. It’s not cheap and unfortunately most of the beaches have been grabbed by private owners and hotels. There are some public beaches but they are difficult to access and the footpaths have very few signs, so its easy to lose your way, even though it is a small island.

Initially, there were 12 people in our group, but several people opted to cancel the trip due to safety concerns. We didn’t have any issues and didn’t see any activity that concerned us. We went off resort a couple times-I highly recommend a trip to Chichen Itzá. We went with Cancun adventures, left at seven in the morning and got back in the afternoon. The ruins and guide were fantastic.

Beautiful part of DR... traffic during rush hours is like anything you would find anywhere else. I find it to be a bit pricier than the capital but there are also more outside visitors to this part of the country, hence the cost. a bit crowded in the tourist areas and some places could use a spruce me up. There is a lot of new construction going on and there is a lot of growth coming to this area. The sand on the beaches is a beautiful sandy white, beaches could be rocky, normal for this part of the island. People are friendly and most are bilingual. Very close to Higüey, and other beautiful cities with rich cultural history. We visited Isla Saona, Basilica of our Virgen of Altagracia, Playa Bibijagua, Panaca Punta Cana, ate at Dona Pula and some delicious Pica pollo! Come and visit, you will not be disappointed.

Very nice surrounding areas like Tayrona National Park and Minca both very nice to hike and enjoy. Santa Marta is a city I wouldn’t spend more than an afternoon in, the people were very friendly and the food in the restaurants was very good but the beaches were rather dirty and the city isn’t that nice, lots of homeless people and drug addicts.

Easy access to everything, unlike Cancun where the "hotel zone" is way too big and like a Vegas without the gambling. Lots of restaurants, shops, bars and the beach all close to each other. Safe too, very well-lit main pedestrian walkway. Best of all, lots of great value. You can find numerous street food vendors or local restaurants where a good dinner can be had for $10 USD or less. Only problem is the sargarum (seaweed) that seems to drift in during the spring and summer...can be a little distracting on the beach and takes away the nice crystal blue water color at times.

San Andrés is a beautiful and vibrant island with incredibly friendly people and a rich culture. The beaches are stunning, with plenty of options for snorkeling, diving, freediving, waterskiing, or even parasailing. Getting around is easy—buses can take you almost anywhere, but we mostly used motorcycle taxis for convenience. We spent New Year’s there, which was magical with everyone on the beach dressed in white! Finding a restaurant on New Year’s Eve was a challenge we didn’t anticipate, but in the end we enjoyed a tasty burger from a street stand. Overall, the island offers a mix of relaxation and adventure, with vibrant local life, delicious food options, and plenty of water activities. It’s perfect for both exploring and simply enjoying the beach, and we would love to return someday.

Tulum is welcoming, has chill vibes and is a great town for scootering around and has many Cenote’s close by that are well worth visiting. We loved the Temple of Dome cenote, Grand cenote and spent a day at Vesica Cenote (spa like, food/service is great)! We feel like there is a lot more to visit here in Tulum another time. Try out the restaurant: La Taque Tulum Resturant for some authentic Mexican food. Lots of good restaurants to choose from and felt super safe walking around at night.

If you are a nature lover, looking to escape the hustle and...

If you are a nature lover, looking to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life often associated with cities and fast paced living….. this is the place for you. If you are looking for a party town, then try somewhere else. This area has plenty of fun bars and experiences, but it really is meant for folks who can fall into the magic that the jungle beaches offer. The rainforest is… life changing. And I highly recommend staying open hearted to what awaits you. Waking up every morning to the 5 am howler monkeys was a bit spooky at first, and then I learned to embrace it. Out there, life starts early, and I started to feel naturally energized? I even found myself eating lighter, not needing as much to get me through each day as the visceral feeling of the rainforest and nature within it was stimulating enough. It’s hard to explain, but magical is the only word that comes to mind. We flew into San Jose, rented a car, and drove out to Puerto Viejo. We stayed in a beautiful and simple house, that had only screens and glass for walls. It was immersive and healing for the nervous system. We then rented a moped, super affordable, and rode around to explore the beaches and wildlife refuges. There are two wonderful refuges to support, The jaguar rescue, and the green macaw rescue. Highly recommend them both. The guides are knowledgeable, and the profit from your ticket goes directly to supporting the rehabilitation, protection, and care of all the animals there. The food can be quite expensive, but if you stick to the more local “sodas” or cafeterias, the food is still fresh and a bit easier on the wallet. Otherwise, expect to pay $40-$80 for dinner. Yes, really. But don’t let that dissuade you. There is something different about this place. And I will be thinking about this trip for a long, long time. Pura vida!
