- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 71 reviewsI recently had the pleasure of staying at Inkaterra La Casona Relais & Châteaux, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality, which set the tone for the entire stay. The hotel is a beautiful blend of colonial charm and modern comfort. The interior is tastefully decorated with rich history, showcasing the unique architecture of the historic house while offering all the luxurious amenities one could ask for. The attention to detail in every corner of the property made it feel like a serene sanctuary. Our room was not only spacious but also impeccably clean and comfortable. The bed was plush, and we were able to enjoy restful nights surrounded by peaceful surroundings. The bathrooms were equally impressive, featuring luxurious finishes and all the necessary amenities for a perfect stay. One of the highlights of our experience was the service. The staff at Inkaterra La Casona were exceptional—always attentive, friendly, and eager to ensure our stay was perfect. Whether it was arranging a tour, offering recommendations for local activities, or simply ensuring we had everything we needed, their hospitality made us feel truly valued. Additionally, the location of the hotel was perfect for exploring the stunning city of Cusco. We were able to easily visit the major sights, yet it was a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle when we returned. The food at the hotel’s restaurant was another standout. The dishes were expertly prepared, showcasing local ingredients with a contemporary twist. Dining at the hotel was a true culinary delight. Overall, Inkaterra La Casona Relais & Châteaux made our stay in Cusco unforgettable. It is a perfect blend of luxury, history, and exceptional service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area andGuest review byYEChina
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 67 reviewsWe had a very relaxing stay- we had planned for one night, but extended it to two nights as we enjoyed the property so much The rooms/cabins are very large/ Nice bathrooms and beds with patios We ate all of our meals there and enjoyed all of them (I am vegetarian and liked all of my options/ my husband who is not vegetarian also equally enjoyed the meals) They have a few activities each day, we enjoyed a short hike and learned about the local community, plants and birds In the afternoon, they have a nice tea time with small snacks- For planning- it takes 1.5 hours from the airport/ plan a ride in advance- it is about $50 for a couple from Cusco The local area has a few popular tourist places to visit though we did not take advantage of these as we just enjoyed staying there The Sacred Valley was an adjustment in altitude for us (we are from Nebraska) and it was nice to acclimate there, before staying in Cusco and ultimately hiking the Salkantay trail.Guest review byMaryUnited States

The staff members in the hotel is nice and I feel so welcomed while studying. Especially thanks Saul who taught me how to make Pisco, it was a great experience. Thanks Freddy and Jefferson who show me round the hotel and explain clearly about the history and amenity of the hotel. Jefferson also recommended me some places to visit and restaurants to dine in Cusco. All the staff are amazing, definitely best memories during me trip in Peru.Guest review byZhuUnited States

Cusco has a vibrant festive energy.
Cusco has a vibrant festive energy. What once was the capital of the Incan Empire is well worth a few days to explore. On Sundays they have a parade in the Casa De Armas where civil servants gather and are celebrated with Music from marching bands etc. There are quality shops for souvenirs with Alpaca and Baby Alpaca clothing and accessories being the more luxury of options. There is ancient architecture wherever you look.Guest review byRowanNew Zealand - 10.0

Loved it! definitely worth the visit. We stayed two nights in Aguas Calientes. I wish I had stayed a door or two longer as the town is small but really lively and fun to be in. Also, we took a panoramic train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes and its definitely worth the experience. I will be journalling my experience, and provide tips in the near future on my blog so stay tuned: https://travelzbyu.blogspot.com/ For now, view pics and videos posted on my social media pages indicated on the link to my blog. - TravelsByUGuest review byUrvashiUnited States - 10.0

Awesome characterful town well worth an overnight stay. We would love to return. The archeological site is stunning but don’t forget to spend some time exploring Pinkuylluma. The hike is steep and challenging but short and so worth it.Guest review byDerrickUnited States - 8.0

Central location for exploring up and down the valley, with good bus connections. It's a real Peruvian town, not a touristy place, like many of the other towns around. I had a good meal in town. Everyone was friendly.Guest review byTimothyPortugal - 10.0

Pisac is a great place to acclimatize if you are coming into the highlands from Lima or Amazon basin. It is charming small town with lots of historical interest. Archeological Pisak is well worth spending some time on. If you are looking to acclimatize to higher altitudes, Pisak is a better starting point that Cusco because the altitude is about 1500 ft lower and it is closer to Sacred Valley attractions.Guest review byAnandUnited States - 10.0
Cusco was a phenomenal city to visit.
Cusco was a phenomenal city to visit. So much culture, great food, good weather, and all of the people are super kind. Things to know: 1) The tourist ticket is great but only lets you in to each place once. So, if you take a tour which gets you a short visit and you want to explore further later on your own, you’ll have to pay the entire 75sol again for each such place 2) Elevation sickness is no joke, go slow on day one and rest/sleep a lot. Pack Advil as it is very helpful 3) DO NOT buy anything on tours. Everything is like 5 times cheaper at the warehouse in the center of Cusco 4) Make use of your hotels/air-bnbs - they were a great help when it came to travelling to different locationsGuest review byEugeniaCanada - 10.0

If you can, see Machu Picchu early in the morn or in the late afternoon for best pics and fewest crowds. Take the bus up to Machu Picchu and then walk the stairs down to Aguas Calientes if you have 2 hours for the trek and strong knees/ankles to manage the stairs. Don't let travel agencies rush you from Cusco/Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu and back to Cusco in one day. Definitely spend the night in Aguas Calientes before or after your visit to Machu Picchu. The town has a lot of character and tremendous beauty. Lots of choices for dining, shopping and spas/massages. We wish we had stayed 2 days!Guest review byAndreaUnited States - 10.0

Strongly recommend to stay in the city instead of doing your Machu Picchu trip from Cusco directly. It would be much less tiring and the city of Ollantaytambo is very cosy and comfortable. Specially if you are coming from outside Cusco and flying in, my recommendation to fly into Cusco and go straight to Ollantaytambo, stay here and visit Machu Picchu. Following by this, go back to Cusco for your stay and fly back. This was a good way we thought to beat the potential high altitude sickness.Guest review byParthUnited Arab Emirates - 10.0

Urabamba is a wonderful local feeling town with a nice square where you can find very good restaurants. There is a Saturday vendor market around the square and a big fresh market every day only a few blocks from the ,main square. Easy to navigate. I ate at Forty, Big A and Migas. All amazing food.Guest review byChristinaUnited States - 8.0

The Pisac archeological park is very interesting and takes 2 - 4 hours to see. Take the taxi up to the site and consider walking down back to the townsite through the park to see additional ruins. Several good restaurants and coffee shops in Pisac. Easy to walk anywhere in town. Central plaza is a pleasant. Short drive from Cusco, could do as a day trip.Guest review byROYCanada
