So many great shops and restaurants! I have celiac so the Copper Room restaurant was a huge bonus! Perfect location for accessing JTNP, average of 30 minutes including gate traffic for entering the park. Neighborhood we stayed in was quiet and safe.Guest review byAnnelieseUnited States - 10.0

We go to Desert Hot Springs for the mineral water. The place we stayed last was great, but there's nothing to write home about in the town. In fact it feels a bit unsafe to go out at night. It's a short drive to Palm Springs however, so it's not a big problem.Guest review byJamesUnited States - 8.0

This place is unique - it's not traditional & has a lot of awesome quirks. The decor is off-beat & fun, we called it "wonderfully weird". It was perfect for us, but might not be perfect for everyone. Desert Hot Springs is just 20 minutes from Palm Springs and an easy drive to Joshua Tree. Yet, it is a tucked away gem that most travelers miss. Yucca Valley is a unique city with many small stores around the area that have a variety of different items such as antiques and thrift stores. This area is also great for nature walks/hikes.
