I actually just stayed in Salina to go white water rafting with the Brown Canyon rafting company in Buena Vista. The rafting experience with them was a five star.. I picked up breakfast from the Brown Dog Café, which was excellent!Guest review byZellaUnited States - 6.0

Although the street art was nice, we very much disliked the fact that all through traffic, including 18-wheelers, speeds through town on Main Street - not an enjoyable or pleasant place to stay or walk, and it doesn't seem particularly clean. This negatively impacts the the attractiveness of all downtown businesses, especially the sidewalk cafes. However, it's all worth it for a visit to Great Sand Dunes National Park. Don't miss it! And Emma's Cafe (Mexican), though small and out of the downtown core, is definitely worth a visit.Guest review byMyronUnited States - 10.0

Great place for visit, locals DO NOT like the tourists too much, witnessed a bad altercation between a motorcyclist and a lady in a Tesla. I did not hear the whole convo but at the end she yelled 'well I live here and PLEASE do NOT come back' - IMHO the motorcyclist did nothing wrong. That being said everyone was VERY kind to me and I just kind of did my thing LOL. Anyways you ARE in vacay land so prices will be adjusted accordingly. Is VERY dry, we were under a fire pre-evacuation the entire time. Scenery is GORGEOUS, I went on the highest rated hike in the area - Four Mile Falls and it was stunning. Tons of hiking and places to visit in the area, easy to get down to Georgia O'Keefe's ranch and all kinds of spas in the area. Great places to eat, yeah I really had a great time 👍Guest review byJuan Negro ModeloUnited States - 4.0

The lake was almost obsolete. Nowhere to eat out on Sunday. We took the train excursion on Sunday , beautiful! I highly recommend Cumbres Suites!! Owner exceeded expectations! Very kind and friendly, unlike Down Home Lodge, owner could care less if we stayed there.Guest review byAngieUnited States - 8.0

I really did not have the time to go into South Fork and see what the town was about. We went up there for a family thing at Treasure Falls in Pagosa Springs. It was for the 1 yr anniversary of our mothers passing. Please clean the grills so others will be able to use them. Also wash the windows. The view is beautiful and the spots on the windows bring the view down.Guest review byDebbyUnited States - 10.0
A very homey town, charming and quiet.
A very homey town, charming and quiet. There are several nature reserves nearby for migrating sandhill cranes and other birds, and a Crane Festival if one comes at the right time. I went to the Great Sands Dunes National Park, which is beautiful and novel. I ate with relatives, but there are nice restaurants nearby for dining, and my locals enjoy their menus. The hotel sits at a crossroads for easy access to any direction, and mountain access is all around, which includes skiing, hiking, rockhounding in old mines, and scenic drives.Guest review byElizabethUnited States - 10.0
Was visiting tracing my genealogy in the area.
Was visiting tracing my genealogy in the area. Everyone that I met was very nice and personable, extremely helpful with the local history and documents searches that I did at the clerk's office. I stayed on the ground level of the rail station on Main Street, and the traffic through the town did not affect my sleep at all, so it's a nice, quiet town. We had great Mexican food on Main Street, there was at least 1 bar that we walked past, and I counted 2 dispensaries. The convenience store just south of the train tracks has hot coffee and yummy breakfast burritos in the morning. I had a very enjoyable stay, I look forward to bringing my children back with me someday soon.Guest review byScottUnited States - 6.0
They have a small but very well run historical museum.
They have a small but very well run historical museum. The collection of Anasazi baskets is outstanding. We enjoyed the case about Fremont’s 4 expeditions as we are big followers of Kit Carson memorabilia.Guest review byCarolUnited States - 10.0

Loved Lake City and loved that we could ride our OHV all around the city. We loved the accommodations and our favorite place to eat was Southern Vittles. Our main activity was riding the OHV all around the city and doing the Alpine Loop. It was so beautiful there. I can't wait to go back. There were about 40 of us with 14 OHV's and we are all planning a return trip next summer.Guest review bySheriUnited States - 10.0

Salida is a beautiful town and the gateway to some of the most beautiful places in Colorado. There are great breweries nearby and a few good places to eat, especially Moonlight Pizza and Boathouse Cantina.Guest review byTomUnited States
