Loved the location! Central to many sites in/around the Black Hills & Custer State Park. The hotel is beautiful inside - looked like a mountain lodge. Comfortable bed. Restaurants are a short walk from the hotel & serve delicious bison burgers, for those that are interested. Definitely would stay there again!

The location was perfect, I can still smell the night air and hear the wind in the tree's. We had a thunderstorm in the middle of the night and it actually added to the ambiance of the whole place, if we ever travel this way again we will definitely spend a couple of nights here. Also the smores around the campfire were a hit with the grandkids and adults too!

We loved the wildlife loop. The donkeys were the best. It said do not feed the animals however with the donkeys it said junk food is not good for them, so I brought apples and bananas.....Soooo Fun. We did not find anyplace open to eat at. I ordered pizza delivery. I came fast and hot. I also brought ham cheese, milk pop ect. from home ( We drove from MN) Getting around town was easy. We spent an afternoon going to small shops. I would say it is a must.

It's a great central location for a few days on the bike trail. A nice ride down to Custer or up to Rochford. We enjoyed Sunday morning worship at The Little White Church, as well as browsing local shops, and dining in the restaurants. Hill City gives you easy access to other destinations in the central and southern Black Hills. Definitely recommend this city for a few days in the Hills.

We loved the pioneer museum, if you like pioneer history go check it out. The mammoth site is a must see lots of history there. They also had a great pizza place one time we did a tswana had Buffalo meat, pineapple, meat the crust was homemade it was delicious. The hotel experience was great the staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions on what sites to go see. I would recommend this hotel. It was easy to find and get to.

Hermosa was close to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park and Crazy Horse. We were happy staying here. We stayed for 4 nights, but could have stayed 1-2 more. It was a beautiful area. Getting around Hermosa was easy with the help of Google maps. There are a lot of dirt roads though.

We walked the worn and it is chock full of touristy kitsch, as you might expect. However, there are also places with some historic significance, the wood carving venue is fun and it's an easy drive if you want to visit Sturgis or Deadwood. A couple of the dining places were a little sketchy (they all get their chicken nuggets/tenders from the same fake chicken supplier), but Annie's and a couple others are good and inexpensive. Undoubtedly the main attraction here is Mt. Rushmore and the town is pretty much dedicated to that. It's a charming little town with some history, easy to navigate, and appears to be safe for walking around anytime. Good visit.

The proximity to Custer State Park is what sold us on staying in Custer. We hiked several trails that provided beautiful views of this State Park. Custer's restaurants were great. Highly recommend these restaurants: Breakfast: Baker's Bakery & Cafe; Lunch or Dinner: New York Deli News or Pizza Mill!!!!

    Love the Black Hills overall.

Love the Black Hills overall. Really enjoy the 1880 train ride which rolls right by the hotel and you can enjoy watching it go by. Alpine Inn is such a good place to eat that we went there everyday day. Love those desserts.

Wonderful town and so much to see and do within the town.

Wonderful town and so much to see and do within the town. Visit the Hot Springs spa and the plunge. Climb the stairs in the town to the beautiful sandstone park. Visit the old school house, walk the main street and view the site of the original hot spring. Spend time at Moccasin Springs Spa, and don't miss Evan's Plunge for a different hot springs experience. Stop at the Kitchen Ink for an amazing lunch or any of the coffee shops in town. I could see living in this delightful town.

Perfect place to stay if you are visiting Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. The town is small but quaint. Locally owned shops and restaurants with wonderful friendly people. Grapes and Grinds is has fabulous coffee. The Red Garter Saloon is a must. The entertainment is incredible. The town also has outdoor adventures as well.
