We stayed in the Deluxe Suite with a stunning sea view, featuring a gorgeous terrace that offered perfect vistas of Mount Vesuvius, the Island of Capri, and the City of Naples. The breakfast was excellent, the internet was fast, and the hammam was delightful. Our host, Catarina, was exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The architecture of the building was incredible. Absolutely stunning inside. Loved the drapes, furnishings and decor. It was great that we were so well placed to visit the archaeological site of Erculano. We spent many hours wandering around this beautiful historical site, which is so well preserved and gives visitors an opportunity to observe what life would have been for the people of Erculano before Mount Vesuvias erupted. Francesca and Theresa looked after us so well. Thank you, Francesca, for your expert knowledge and the advice you gave us over the best way to get to Maiori. It was just so easy, train to Salerno, Ferry from Salerno to Maiori. Thank you, Theresa, for your hospitality, you made us so welcome. The breakfasts every morning we're so tasty and inviting. Thank you for recommending the restaurant. We had a lovely evening. It was great being able to have a conversation with you via the app on your phone. You just went out of the way to make our stay very special. We felt sad leaving. A great start to our Amalfi holiday. ♥️

    The ruins were fantastic.

The ruins were fantastic. There is also the Teatro Antico, which is still underground. We missed out on this as we didn't find out about it until we got there. They only admit small groups at a time and it was fully booked. Tickets are available from the Herculaneum entrance or on the Ticket One website, so you really need to book on advance. There is a virtual Archaeological museum in the town. This includes a short 3D film about Vesuvius, the opportunity to fly a virtual drone and a VR experience of walking round one of the palace gardens. Ideal for kids and teens! The museum is screen based about Herculaneum ruins and does not include actual discoveries from the site. For visiting the surrounding areas, trains into Naples are regular, as are trains to Pompeii (but you have to change - the ticket man didn't tell us this!). Don't miss the chance to wander round the actual town of Pompei. It was beautiful! In fact, next time I would choose to stay there over Ercolano or Naples!

My grandchild suggests we would have been better staying in Pompeii and travelling to Ercolano one day. I had decided to follow what my neighbour suggested, based on taking a younger child to southern Italy.

We spent one night in Ercolano to visit the ruins of Herculaneum and break up our trip to the Amalfi Coast. The ruins are a must-see and you can experience authentic Naples pizza at RO.VI. We also enjoyed espresso and drinks at the Herculaneum Cafe. I'm not sure what you'd do here for more than a day or two, but the ruins and authentic cuisine were definitely worth our time!

The apartment was very nice and people of Ercolano very friendly. They really drive like crazy, but that is their way of life. Train station is really near the apartment and best option to reach Napoli, Pompei, Sorrento...

A spectacular place if you are interested in Roman history around the eruption of Vesuvius. There is plenty to see and the remains of Ercolano are in very ggod condition considering it was buried almost 2,000 years ago. Well worth a visit

Ercolano is a small town nearby Vesuvio, which can be seen from most everywhere, Naples bay also is lovely and is seen from most of the places in the town. You can easily find nice fish, pizza, fast food and traditional local restaurants in 10-15 min walk. There is a nice but small botanical garden in the territory of the local university. They also have a park of mandarins/tangerines which you can pick up for free. The ruins of Ercolano/Herculaneum exceeded our expectations! It is not overcrowded as Pompei, the territory you can walk through in 1-1.5 hours, moreover, some buildings are in better condition ... we liked it.

We were able to communicate easily in English with the manager. We were met by three gentlemen to show us the car park and assist us with bags to our room. The hotel includes a modern decor within a historical building located close to restaurants, shops and the archaeological park. The room had a great view of the golden mile and mount Vesuvius. The manager gave a pleasant overview of the buildings history, how to use their WIfi and online catalogue to nearby services..

Flora was great and had a very cheerful personality. We only spent one night to see Herculaneum ruins the day we came in and the Pompeii ruins the day we left. Easy 5 minute walk to Herculaneum ruins with a nice pizza place on the way. 15 minute walk to beach bars to see the sunset. Good restaurants close by. There was a nice terrace on the property.
