We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer than one night. The suite was spacious and fabulous. Everything was very modern and clean and we had an extremely large bathroom 'suite'. There was plenty of space for everything. We had complimentary fruit on arrival. The staff were so helpful and pleasant. I thought I had lost my passport whilst unpacking and one of the staff spent a lot of time helping me to find it with very good grace. The breakfast was very good. I didn't use all the facilities. I wasn't expecting them as I thought the hotel was 3* but it really was of 4* calibre as far as I was concerned.
Set in the historic centre of Viana do Castelo, Jardim is set in a listed building providing picturesque views.

Porto, Braga, and Viana do Castelo are part of the original route for the Camino of St James. The hotel offered an opportunity to have a little bit of luxury with a sea view locational and walk before my Camino. The facilities were excellent, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. There is a restaurant and bar where I enjoyed a drink and a delicious meal of sea bass. The staff were friendly and helpful, with information, directions and taxis. I had limited time in Viana do Castelo, and I had to maximise my time, and the hotel staff were very supportive in reminding the taxi to return for me. They also looked for and provided information for my onward travel to Baiona.

Gorgeous city by the sea.
Gorgeous city by the sea. Beautiful blend of the old and the new, from a bridge designed by Gustave Eiffel to a modern shopping plaza in the centre of town near the main train station. A definite Parisian feel with lots of colorful sidewalk cafes and shops along clean, tree lined streets. I highly recommend making this a stop on your tour of Northern Portugal.

Viano do Castelo has a nice maritime feel to it with nearby beaches, historic old city center, many good restaurants, and sits below the amazing Santa Luzia Cathedral. One must visit the Cathedral and if daring go up to the top of the Cathedral (mix of elevator and then steps) for the best 360 degree views of the region, ocean and land.

I loved everything about Viana do Castelo.
I loved everything about Viana do Castelo. It was New Year's Eve and the atmosphere was incredible. Definitely one of the best nights of my life! The people, the decorations, the lights and although a lot of fun was being had, it just felt so safe and welcoming!
The next morning the streets were spotless, everyone wishing you a Happy New Year and it was all in all just perfect. I'll definitely be coming back. In fact I'd love to live there!

Lovely town to stroll around with lots of interesting buildings/architecture, nice boutiques and specialist shops and a good mix of places to eat. If we had stayed longer it would have been worth having a car but for 4 nights it was fine without. (Hotel has a car park)

Horacio is an excellent host, looking after his guest's needs with careful attention from arrival to departure. He arranged for a delicious meal to be delivered from a nearby restaurant and had local wine on hand to complement the food. Not only did he answer all our questions about life in Portugal and gave us recommendations about the best local paths for our Camino Portuguese, but he even drove my companion to the next evening's destination, saving us from an expensive taxi ride.
What a wonderful place to arrive at after a long, rainy day on the Camino. It was so clean, comfortable and quiet, it was the best sleep I've had since arriving in Portugal. The lady that welcomed me on arrival was lovely and spoilt me for breakfast in the morning. Cafe Catete was just down the road and the very kind South African lady served simple, tasty, cheap food. It was a miserable January day and I was alone there but it was perfect. Thanks!
Perfect location near shopping, train, bus, sights, market and restaurants. Many choices at breakfast buffet and coffee was the best of my six week trip. Room was large with fairly comfortable chairs. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially Rui whose kindness we appreciated. There are several comfortable sitting areas around the hotel to relax. Lovely library well stocked with books about Portugal. Too bad I don’t read Portuguese!
The situation of the house could not be better. On a very quiet road with beautiful view.
For us it was perfect, that we could arrive by train and did not need a car, since the owner offered us bicycles.
The house is right on the coastal bike and hiking path. The next town, Viana do Castelo, to shop and go out for dinner is only 7 km and very nice.
Amazing place, with great hosts, and a good location close to the supermarket. 10-minute drive to Viana do Castelo and the beach. An old house nicely renovated, a green garden with orange trees and a pool, and a small playground just around the corner. Good breakfast. We stayed here for 3 nights and could have stayed longer.
Extraordinary view of a very beautiful coast if you like rocky beaches. There was a place close by to charge our bikes and we were also able to repair our broken pannier there. It was a great second day stop from Porto. People at the hotel were very friendly and helpful!
The most delightful place to stay - so utterly charming and peaceful - and the hosts are SUCH kind, sweet caring people who go the extra mile to make you comfortable Fabulous breakfast & best salad I've had in Portugal so far. Cannot recommend them more - 10 stars!!! ❤️
It was like staying at a private villa not a hotel. the staff was amazing and kept in contact with us before our arrival, as we were walking the Camino and didn’t know our arrival time. they had a modern kitchen with everything a pilgrim would need for creating a meal.
New hotel in Viana do Castelo, full of good taste and super comfortable.
I wasn't expecting so much comfort and exquisite decoration.
Loved bathroom.
Breakfast was variable and really good. Plus, they offer every woman a flower
Very modern hotel right in the centre of Viana do Castelo and just a two minute walk from the train station. The room was spotless and plenty of hot water for the shower.
Large and comfortable room. The host (or staff) even did our laundry. The location is phenomenal. The price is good. Viana do Castelo was my favorite city in Portugal.
The most wonderful place where we have stayed in Portugal. Huge appartments, extraordinary clean, with fully equiped kitchen, big dinning room, we tried the pool 👌💯.
Everthing. One of my most comfortable stays abroad ever. I very much enjoyd staying i the the apartment and I felt very comfortable in the town Viana do Castelo.
Nice location in the old city center of Viana do Castelo. We were given a bigger room when the lady saw that my husband is tall…and we had a lovely view, too😀
Modern hotel with exceptional value in the centre town after crossing the long bridge. Very helpful reception and stored our Camiño bicycles in a locked room.
