+ Cute little cottage, well equipt for a short stay. Interesting layout, set out over 4 floors!
+ We particularly liked the cosy living room on the lower ground floor, and the big comfy sofa.
+ Fantastic views of Warton Crag face.
+ Good parking at the rear.
+ Good communications from the host, clear directions for check-in, and they kindly let us know that we'd left a set of keys behind (fortunately before we'd left the area!)
+ Great location, for beautiful walks and local nature reserves.
With an excellent seafront location, this Grade II* listed Art Deco design hotel boasts free Wi-Fi, a stylish interior. Morecambe Rail Station is 5 minutes’ walk away.

It's in an ideal spot to visit the south lakes and towns of Lancaster and Morecambe. We actually went to a funeral at Beetham crematorium which is just 6 miles north. Not far from M6 so a got stop off point to break your journey north .

The Longlands is not in the town of Carnforth, it is located at Tewitfield Marina nearby.
Tewitfield is in the countryside, close to the Lancaster canal with some great walks. I can imagine that there is a lot going on in the school holidays and weekends, alongside the marina with a good atmosphere.
It is in close proximity of the M6 and A6 making it accessible to the South Lakes and Morecambe bay.
We drove through Carnforth it is a busy town on the A6

Lovely comfortable and clean rooms, with an excellent breakfast included in the price. The restaurant meals were good quality, but for me the thing that distinguishes the place from others was the wonderful staff they have. From reception to check out the quality and friendliness was outstanding.

Small town but had a lovely book store ( new and second hand) and lots of choice of catergories.I stayed at Royal Station Hotel which provided basic and clean accommodation for the night.
I personally wanted to go to Carnforth to visit the Heritage centre and watch the film Brief Encounter as it was filmed at the Carnforth railway station. The Refreshment room had good choices for lunch. You can also take a train through the edge of The Yorkshire Dales from there.

Carnforth is a small but vibrant town.
Carnforth is a small but vibrant town. There are several pubs, restaurants and an excellent bookshop. Transport links are first rate. There is easy access by train, bus or car to Lancaster, Kendal and the Lake District.
The rooms are spacious, the kitchen is worth mentioning: dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, and almost with everything one needs. Books and board games are on the shelf, children will have a good time in the evening after one day's trip outside. Only half an hour's drive to Windermere which is the centre of the lake district, in addition the Devil's bridge is nearby. It only takes about 15 minutes to drive to the nearest supermarket in Kirkby Lonsdale. In short, it's a good place for family to stay.
Capernwray House is a complete delight. A marvellous peaceful country location, yet not far from the M6 and Carnforth. Mel offers the warmest of welcomes upon arrival, with tea or coffee and sweet treats in the lounge. The rooms are decorated with impeccable taste and modern fixtures and finishes. The king bed was excellent. The included breakfast is elegant, varied and absolutely delicious.
Our stay, quite simply, made us smile from start to finish.
It was just perfect for my family. There were lovely little touches like the soap dispensers in the shower and some mini rolls on arrival. The location was perfect for accessing Lancaster and the lower Lake District. The main bedroom was spacious with an r suite toilet and sink which was lovely. Towels were provided and tea, coffee and sugar were there. Kitchen was well stocked. Lovely artwork on the walls. Having Wi-Fi included was a bonus too.
A exceptional hotel for the weary traveler…room was very clean, food and service was top notch… Landlord was more than accommodating for allowing us to overnight our Harley’s in his secured garage. Definitely a must stay when overnighting in the area…always good to see “Biker Friendly” establishments… let’s continue to support them when we can… see you next time we are riding the north.
This is a beautiful house which is maintained in excellent condition and very comfortable. The Host was great and made us feel very welcome. She made a lovely cooked breakfast and could not do enough for us. The value was very reasonable too. All in all if we needed to stay in that area again then we would be very happy to book this hotel again.
The caravan was exceptionally clean and well stocked. Lovely to see real bedding like at home, not the generic hotel whites. The owners were very attententive and checked we had managed to check in ok and fot everything we needed. Great location on site and also great base for venturing to Arnside, Silverdale and Windermere.
Keys where ready in the lockbox upon arrival.
The apartment was clean, tidy and welcoming. There where some basic amenities available (ie: tea, coffee, milk)
Staff where friendly and polite in the office when I asked about some of the local area and what there was to do
Great location, good service , beautiful nature . This is the best location to visit lake district.
In the resort water sports facilities , swimming pool, mini golf, tennis pitch , BBQ area , picnic spots . Amazing facilities
Nice location - convenient as it was close to M6 for family meet up. Very quiet and felt remote. Relaxing stay. Hotel nearby at marina entrance was decent for food and drinks. Day trip to Morecambe and Lancaster very nice.
Straightforward in collecting keys for cottage, which was very clean.
Pleasant atmosphere around the area.
Very quiet in the evenings.
Cottage that we stayed in was well suitable for disabled people.
Breakfast was what I’d expect from a top class restaurant! not a small town hotel. Delicious. Dining and bar areas were immaculate and very well decorated. Large free car park.
Calm area by the lake. Well equipped kitchen, hotel style bed, parking spot. The staff were very friendly at the main entrance.
The landscapes around the lakes are amazing
The staff was excellent, welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was fabulous and dinner very good too. Lovely canal walk by the hotel. Would definitely go back.
The food and eatery was very nice. Unusual having an annexe as the hotel rooms but great for privacy. Quiet and private. Close to the area I was visiting.
